They were an absolute pleasure - huge thanks to all the staff who supported the trip and special thanks to Mrs Hillier who looked after me on Oblivion! On Monday I had the privilege of working with Mr Portman, Miss Hodkin and Mrs Dobson to enquire into the practice and our learners habits in the English department. All too often as a Headteacher you get sucked into conversations that seemingly have nothing to do with learning! It was fantastic to spend the morning working with these talented teachers. Our morning ended with some clear areas of development for Miss Hodkin to take back to h er department. On Tue sday our Maths department had their repeat departmental review and it was great to hear positive feed back about t he improvements many of the staff have made. We aren’t there yet but we are beginning to move in the right direction! The end of the week is equally frenetic with the relocation of departments ready for the new timetable which starts next week. The increase in Maths and English lessons at KS3 and Year 10 has meant we have had to find additional teaching spaces. It has also been a great opportunity to have a good clear out! A huge thank you to all staff who have worked tirelessly this week to make this happen and to our fantastic facilities team who have moved furniture, classroom dividers and ferried trolley loads of rubbish to the skip!
