We have faced many challenges since September and I am sure there will be many more to come! But I am optimistic that the green shoots of improvement that we are seeing across the school will continue to flourish as we move into next year. We are saying many goodbyes today with a significant number of staff moving on to I would also like to express my personal thanks to the wider staff team and my Leadership team who have worked tirelessly since September, embracing significant change. And finally thank you to the many parents and carers who have taken the time to contact me, both about things that are going well and not so well. We really value your feedback and as we move into a new academic year I hope this continues. I hope you all have a fantastic summer and I look forward to welcoming you all back in September! Many of them have been at Darton for a significant number of years and played a key role in its journey. Few teachers I have ever met have been as long serving as Mr Steve Powell who leaves us this year after serving 41 years as a teacher here at Darton - quite remarkable! We also say goodbye to Mr Peter Renardson, Vice Principal. I owe a particular debt of thanks to Peter, he has kept me sane since September, supporting me through thick and thin through some challenging times. His patience and integrity know no bounds!
