Beginning of The X Factor

In September 2004, a new British Talent show was broadcasted on ITV for the first time ever.

It had 3 judges watching different acts go through stages until one became a winner.

The show was presented by Kate Thornton for the first 3 years. It had 3 judges called Sharon

Osbourne, Louis Walsh & Simon Cowell.

The X Factor’s JudgesAfter the first couple of series, the X Factor dominated in a

successful British Saturday night fever show for Itv. The judges were made up of Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh

and Simon Cowell. In 2007, 4 judges were added to the panel, but Sharon

decided to leave so Cheryl joined the judges until 2010. In 2010-13, 3 new judges replaced Cowell, Cole and

Minouge. This would become the most important times for the X factor on ITV.

X Factor presentersKate Thornton:

Kate did the presenting job from 2004- 2007. She hosted 3 amazing finals and crowned Steve, Shyane And Leona. She was sacked by Simon Cowell in August 2007 after 3

series on the show. Dermot O’Leary:

Dermot has presented the X Factor since 2007. He is great with the contestants and calms people down if they don’t get through. He is a cracking presenter to host it and has

done well for the last 7 years.
