FOLLOWING CHRIST SERIES Following Christ is a seven-week experi-ence in basic Catholic discipleship. This series will help you grow in your relation-ship with the Lord Jesus. SMALL GROUP TRAINING Anyone who would like to learn how to lead a Small Group dur-ing Advent is welcome to join us for a small group training on November 4 at 7:00PM, Saint Bon’s Parish Center. If you are interested in this training OR would like to be in a small group this Advent, please text/call Cheryl Drozd at 402-910-2868 or email [email protected]. “ During Lent this year we formed a small neighborhood prayer group and called it "Coffee With Jesus." We met each Wednes-day morning at 10:00 AM at our home, had coffee and rolls or muffins, and discussed the upcoming Sunday's Gospel reading. Our normal routine was to open with a prayer that the Holy Spirit would guide our conversation - and boy did He come through! After our discussion we would close with a prayer thanking God for his presence and guidance. During our meetings, someone (a different person each time) would read the Gospel and then each person would describe why a particular sentence or passage was meaningful to him or her. Something very interesting became evident as we discussed the various Gospels throughout Lent. While it was true that Jesus was speaking to all of us, His message was, in fact, tailored dif-ferently and specifically for each one of us. Rather than ancient writings meant for people who lived 2,000 years ago, the Words of Sacred Scripture became real, relevant, modern - and very personal to each one of us. By sharing these insights, we became aware of how God continues to work in each of our lives. These mornings were powerful sessions and I'm sure our group will continue these meetings next Lent, if not before.”

AMOR DE POR VIDA Por Padre Jairo Congote

DOES GOD FORGIVE ABORTION? Can a person (the mother, father, or provider) ever

be forgiven for an abortion? For people of faith, any conversation of human sinfulness should always lead us to reflect on God’s loving mercy. Because God’s mercy is greater than any sin, the Church is clear that even those involved in the sin of abortion can be recon-ciled with God and the Church. To help make this grace more available through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Pope Francis extended the permis-sion to absolve someone of the sin of abortion to

all priests in 2016. Even with the grace and blessings of the Sacrament of Reconcilia-tion, the tragedy of abortion and the aftermath of abortion takes a toll on everyone involved. Ministries of outreach and support, such as Project Rachel, offer pastoral counseling, support groups, retreats, and other forms of care. As Christians, we are also called to help promote this healing and reconciliation in all its forms. To learn more, visit www.hopeafterabortion.com. ©LPi
