Hello Ladies -

Hard to believe we are moving on to another club year.

Summer is almost (officially) here, and that gives us all a lot

to look forward to! We certainly are excited to get working

this year, and we hope that you share in that excitement

with us!!

We would like to extend another huge THANK YOU to

the Membership committee for organizing such a wonderful

night out for all of us at May dinner. It was a great event,

and we raised money to support one of our extremely hard-

working members, Babs Condon, as she works her way up to

being GFWC International President in 2014!!

With the start of the summer months, comes a lot of

planning for our largest fundraiser of the year – the Kid’s

Consignment Sale. This year, the sale is on Saturday, Au-

gust 25th. We are sure that the committee will begin to have

a great deal of information for us, but we hope that you can

get that date on your calendar as we need all of the helping

hands we can get!

Lastly, be sure to take a look at the 2012-2013 com-

mittee selections, which are included later in the newsletter.

We look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting on

June 14th, we will be meeting at St.

Paul’s Church in the fellowship hall

(where we met for our March meet-

ing!) Until then, take care!

Ladies June will be upon us with a new exciting club

year. Therefore it is once again time to pay club dues

of $45.00 for returning members and $50.00 for new

We're gearing up for another successful Consignment Sale on

Saturday, August 25, 2012. Proceeds from this project fund

the vast majority of our projects and donations during the club

year.

BRING YOUR CALENDER TO THE JUNE MEETING!

To make the sale a success, everyone is asked to work

at minimum three shifts. There are approximately 240

worker shifts to be filled, so keep in mind that even three

shifts per club member doesn’t come close to staffing the sale.

MEN (high school age boys would be great too) and women volunteers are needed to

set up Thursday evening August 23rd. We also need everyone's help to take in and

hang clothing/equipment Friday the 24th from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Saturday the 25th

various shifts will be scheduled from 6:30 AM until 6:00 PM. Please put this on

your (and your family's) calendar now. Also, keep in mind that middle school and

high school students can earn community services hours for helping. School will not be

in session yet, so please enlist responsible students to help. Contact Meghan Jothen

ASAP to sign up to help. You can see her at the June meeting or email her at

[email protected]

Please print and post the flier you received as an attachment to this newsletter in as

many locations as possible. Let Kristin know if you need another copy of the electronic

file or would like a paper copy. There will also be yard signs at the August meeting to

be put up as soon as possible after the meeting.

Anyone who wants to reserve a particular consignor number they've had in the past or

get a consignor packet should contact Susan Krichten as soon as possible at

[email protected]

We're looking forward to another great sale, Kristin, Meghan and Leslie

The May dinner was spectacular! Thank you to Jennifer Danko for her kind hospitality and opening her

home and hosting the dinner. A very special thank you is extended to Pam Xenakis and her culinary

team of Lynne Brecker, Heidi Landry, Jessica Brock, Peggy Markovic, Kristin Barmoy, Trish Wagman

and Grace Kelly Lawler for cooking and baking a fabulous and delicious May dinner. It was a great

evening of fun, fellowship and supporting Babs Condon and her 2014 installation fund. The evening

included the installation of our new officers with a gardening theme by our GFWC First Vice President

Babs Condon. Congratulations to our new officers:

Co presidents Jess Condon and Jennifer Danko

Vice President Kristin Barmoy

Recording secretary Mary Walton

Treasurer Grace Kelly Lawler

Corresponding Secretary Wendy Raith

Pam and Heidi recognized club members celebrating 5 years in our club: Tammy Black, Jess Condon,

Pat Coburn, Heidi Landry and Sandy Lynch. The club recognized our Rookie of the Year, Wendy Raith

and our Outstanding Junior Club Woman Carol Horne.

The outgoing officers were thanked for their commitment to the club, their hard work and time.

The membership committee is looking forward to the new club year and we have some new ideas to

help bring in new members and retain the wonderful members we already have in our club. Come to

our June meeting to hear our plans for this year. There will be an orientation of new club members in

June. We will announce the date at the June meeting. Welcome to our newest members Julie

Mathias, Becca Wagman and Emily Green.

Please note our New meeting location (at our old meeting location) at St. Paul’s United Church of

Christ located on the corner of West Green and Bond Streets.

Despite the heat and humidity

it was a great day to partici-

pate in the 145th Annual West-

minster Memorial Day Parade.

It was awesome to be able to

remember and honor our ser-

vice men and women of all ages

who gave their lives in service

to protect our freedom and our

rights. It was great to walk

with the GFWC Women’s Club of Westminster and the GFWC STARS Juniorette Club of West-

minster. Thanks to club members and their families who participated in the parade and distrib-

uted flags. It was a fun way to pay tribute to our armed forces!
