A memorial service was held on Monday July 14, 2014, at New Life Church with Rev. Chris Jackson offi- ciating. Mary was born October 18, 1956 in Sacramento, CA, a daughter of the late Delmar Allison and Betty Jane Tarlton Averill. She was retired from West Knit- ting Mills. Surviving are her chil- dren, Christina Zell of Wadesboro, Tammy Coley of Marshville, Kimberly Coley Belk of Charlotte and Nikki Coley Napier of Matthews; her brothers and sisters, John Evans of Nor- walk, OH, Delmar Averill of Greensboro, Kevin Jay Aver- ill, Sr. and Allison Bennett, both of Sacramento and Betty Bennett Goins of Browns Summit; and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memo- rial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses, c/o Leavitt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 28170. Miss Mary Anner Hough Miss Mary Anner Hough died Monday July 7, 2014, at her home in Wadesboro at the age of 77. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at New Pine Grove Ministries in Wadesboro with Elder Carl Ingram officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Miss Hough was born July 16, 1936, in Anson County to the late John and Cassie Mae Ingram Hough. Mary accepted Christ at an early age at Pine Grove Holiness Church and at- tended Anson County Schools. She was a sweet and humble lady who never met a stranger. She would always help anyone to the best of her ability. She loved to walk and would often be walking around Wadesboro with family or friends. Surviving are her sister, Lillie Hough Smith; a nephew, whom she raised as a son, Jasper Alexander Smith; and her sister-in- law, Laney Hough, all of Wadesboro; a special great-niece, Na’ziyah Grace of Monroe; special friend Frances Sellars of Wadesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her son, Melvin Lee Hough and by her brothers, John Richard Hough and Raeford S. Hough.
