IntroductionDefinition of technology: Technology is something created to entertain you or help make your life easier. It may also be something created to improve the quality of life.

Eyeglasses: year created:1280Definition: A thin glass surface on a metal or plastic rim used to improve vision.Eyeglasses today can be customized just for you for example: They could be pink and +1.25,but over 700 years ago when they were first created, they were simple pieces of glass held together on the bridge of the nose. There weren't any stems or earpieces on the glasses back then, probably making it harder for the glasses to stay in front of your eyes.

Suspension bridge:1350

Definition: Long woven bridges used for transportation across deep gorges or bodies of water.

Technology today: suspension bridges used to be woven bridges able to carry only the weight of a person. Now 662 years later, bridges are able to carry hundreds of tons and are made of steel.

Thermometer 1710 Rene Antoine Ferchault de Reaumur Definition: a small device used to check the temperature of many things.Technology today: Even though when originally invented, thermometers were only used to check the temperature of the air, today we use thermometers for a lot of things, such as to check the temperature of the food you are cooking also an animal’s/human’s temperature when they are ill.

Franklin Stove:1742 Benjamin Franklin

Definition: A type of stove used to safely heat up a room. It was also more efficient than a fireplace, and could be used for cooking too.

Ice Box: 1834 Jacob Perkins Definition: a wooden box with a door used to keep food cold. Also referred to as an ice box. It had to be refilled with ice every day in order to keep the food inside from spoiling.Technology today: back then, ice boxes were simply a wooden box used to keep your food cold, now a refrigerator is much larger and more accurately keeps your food cold. It also runs on electricity.

Typewriter:1843 Charles Thurber

Definition: a typewriter is a machine with many levers and buttons and was very much like a computer keyboard. It was used to type things such as important business documents, books and letters.Technology today: instead of using typewriters we now use computers. Some people still like typewriters but for the most part they are obsolete.

Microphone:1877 Thomas Alva Edison A long metal voice enlarger placed by mouth to enhance the sound of your voice so people all around the room can hear. Today however, they are much lighter, smaller, and cordless.

E-mail:1993Definition: a way to connect to people by electronically sending messages. It also used to be a program that you had to download but is now web based. Another thing that made it such a significant creation was being able to send a message to people in seconds instead of sending a letter which would took days.

Google: 1998Google is a search engine, used to search keywords, making it easier to find what you are looking for. Now on Google you are also able to view videos, look at maps, see the news, translate languages, read books, view photos, email, shop online, and more.

WIFI: 1999Definition: WIFI is a signal sent through the air which your electronic device receives. Wireless is also used for many types of wireless devices such as computers, televisions, phones, and iPods. It allows communication without wires.

Future Technology/how has Technology has changed our livesFuture tech: I think that in the future, technology will be used for everything, everything from going shopping to getting married. In the future, there will be a cure for cancer, a way to deliver a baby using trained robots, instead of doctors.I think that technology has changed our values in many ways. Since social networking sites, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and many other websites were created, there have been more children and teens committing suicide because of cyber bullying. This hurts, makes fun of, or purposely embarrasses somebody online, causing them to feel so hurt that the target of this humiliation commits suicide. However there is another side to social networking sites, such as how they can connect family members and friends who live far away from each other.
