SINEMA KELANA PROFILE
THE YEAR WAS 2005. A GROUP OF YOUNG FILMMAKERS GOT LOST IN A SMALL VILLAGE IN BOYOLALI, CENTRAL JAVA. ABSORBING THINGS ENCOUNTERED ALONG THE WAY, EVEN IF IT’S NOT NECESSARILY THE ONE INITIALLY PLANNED, OUR GROUP OF ASPIRING FILMMAKERS GOT MESMERISED BY A DANGDUT SHOW PERFORMANCE UNDER THE NAME “KELANA KARYA”.
EVER SINCE, THE NOTION “KELANA” (JOURNEY, VOYAGE) NEVER LEFT OUR MINDS. WE REALISED THAT WE WANT TO DRAW OUR CREATIVITY IN FILMMAKING FROM THE CONFUSION AND AWE DRIFTING FARAWAY FROM THE COMFORT OF “HOME” ENTAILS.
5 YEARS AND MANY SHORT MOVIES LATER, WE DECIDED TO CREATE A FILM MADE IN PLACES FARTHER AWAY AND EVEN MORE FOREIGN TO OUR OWN EARS. DRIVEN BY A PASSION FOR GUERRILLA, SPONTANEITY AND ADDICTED TO BE THE UNCERTAINTY THAT LIES INHERENT IN EVERY ADVENTURE, THE GROUP CREATED THE FIRST FEATURE FILM: SAGARMATHA. THE FILM RELATES THE STORY OF TWO BEST FRIENDS’S JOURNEY TO ACTUALISED AN OLD DREAM TO TRAVEL FROM KOLKATA INDIA TO THE HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINS IN NEPAL.
WE ENVISAGE FILMMAKING AS A CREATIVE PROCESS IN FACING THE UNKNOWN. IT IS THIS PASSION THAT KEEPS US TOGETHER CONTINUING THE JOURNEY OF MAKING MOVIES.

Abdul Manaf is a young creative Producer. He prefers to think that he is a one lucky person through the experiences as the apprentice from one of Indonesian legendary producer, Tino Saroengallo. Together they made several commercial and film production services. Such as Eat, Pray, Love by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Philosopher by An Olive Branch, Blackhat by Legendary Pictures, TVC Djarum Adventure & Djarum MLD (2012-2016). His personal experience as filmmaker freelancer is Mereka bilang saya monyet by Intimate, Cinta Paling Agung by ASTRO Malaysia, Night Bus by Nightbus Pictures, etc.
As one of Sinema Kelana founder, his first feature film is “Sagarmatha” (Apresiasi Film Indonesia Award Nomination for Best Director 2013) with Emil Heradi. Even until 2015, this film screened in Fukuoka Film Festival, Japan.
His dream is to go further, first target is to breakthrough Asian film industry market then go worldwide. Abdul team has the expertise for Production Service, TVC production, TV films, or Feature Films and also developing creative ideas.
Film Production without chaos is not a film production. Therefore, together we avoid production chaos and have a fun production.
Emil HeradiFilm Director
Emil Heradi is a rising film director that has a lot experience in film as an AD for Habibie Ainun, Merah Putih trilogy, Eat Pray Love and also directed made-for-TV films, including Cinta Paling Agung (Astro Malaysia)
With Sinema Kelana he directed his 1st feature film “Sagarmatha” (Apresiasi Film Indonesia Award Nomination for Best Director) and get a very positive feedback by critiques. He also directed notable films: Rumah Perkara (part of omnibus feature (Best Omnibus Film Award , Piala Maya 2012 , Frontier (Singapore Intl Film Festival), Juni Waktu Itu (FFI2006 Nomination), & Srengenge (Best Short Film, International Labour Organisation Film Festival for Kids 2006).
His 2nd Feature Film “Night Bus” is in Post Production and will be released at end of 2016.
For him, Each film is an adventure full of spontaneity.

A life fighter, seems can represent her life journey. Always want to learn something new, she start working in film industry as freelancer for short film “ERASE LOVE” by Ideami Studios and feature film POINT BREAK 2-RGM Entertainment in Bali.
In 2009 after shoot Eat, Pray, Love; she recruited as Production Finance in Production House in Jakarta until 2014. Here, she worked in several International feature films, documentary, and TVC. Such as : Born to be wild-Imax 3D in Borneo, Conimex-Netherland TVC, Koh Lanta-France TV Series, Thien Phu & Smart Door-Vietnam TVC, Journey to the South Pacific-Imax & MacGillivray Freeman in Papua, Wonderful Indonesia 2013-Parekraf, etc. In 2015 she joined a Singaporean film project titled 1965 (M2M Entertainment).
After dwelling in many international projects, she wants to do more. Together in Sinema Kelana, she found her oasis to thirst of new experiences with more independence on creative ideas. Entering world wide market is our next target!
Beyond imagination, this Celebes Woman wants her child someday can learn: if we believe, than we can do it!

Sell the problem you solve. Not the product. This might be a match line for him. Years in Advertising Agency, he always have passions in creative industry and never stuck for new idea. Now, as one of our collaborators, he challenged himself to make a brand new ideas in creative industry.
SI TOU TIMOU TUMOU TOU, is his new philosophy. Meaning : Men live to help others live. Hoping through his work can give an inspirations for others.
