Light Moments

Playing with fate In surgery for a heart attack, a middle-aged woman has a vision of God by her bedside. “Will I die?” she asks. God says, “No. You have 30 more years to live.” With 30 years to look forward to, she decides to make the best of it. So since she’s in the hospital, she gets a face lift, liposuction, a tummy tuck, hair transplants, and collagen injections in her lips. She looks great!

The day she’s discharged, she exits the hospital with a swagger, crosses the street, and is immediately hit by an ambulance and killed.

Up in heaven, she sees God. “You said I had 30 more years to live,” she complains. “That’s true,” says God. “So what happened?” she asks. God shrugs. “I didn’t recognize you.”

Slowly, life is getting back to normal. Shops are reopening, restaurants are once again converting how they operate—now going from the new take-away business to the even newer social distance–guaranteed dining rooms. Offices opening up with work from home now being seen as a possible option if not always atleast once a while . But the NEW NORMAL is not the normal we knew before COVID hit us ..

We now venture outside not with confidence but with a lingering sense of suspicion. We are worried somebody passing by might be infected , we are worried when our colleague has a fever or simply just a headache, sneezing freezes us. We tend to move around like babies learning to walk . Surely all this will slowly ease out as days go by and we will learn to accept the realty of our Masked existance ..

The way we live may need to change forever. COVID-19 has taught us about the uncertainty of life, how everything can change in a heartbeat, and how important it is to be prepared.Let us embrace the changes and think that we owed this to the world ..Enough of negativity about jobs, salaries, economy . NEWS FROM SEVENSEAS - Business during Covid times As we have been mentioning the TEAM at SEVENSEAS has been doing their best in ensuring services in times of LOCKDOWN. Surely we have not been just talking, the proof is in the below shipments handled during the month of May that too in badly affected cities like Chennai and Mundra.

Sevenseas Mundra gets going during Covid times – Handles ODC

The Team across Sevenseas offices has been working from home during the Lockdown, but as we have been mentioning we have ensured that activities as possible are being undertaken. The month of May alone we have moved quite a lot of heavy tonnage Air exports as also containers not to mention the inbound container clearances. May surely has seen very encouraging signs for us. This time Team Mundra got into the act and handled a Flat Rack shipment that was for a shipper located up north close to Delhi which was organized at Mundra port and executed in the midst of the severest times that the states of Mumbai and Gujarat ( Where Mundra is located at ) are in . The Cargo was Plant & Machinery for cooking oil manufacture requiring the usage of 40’Flat rack... The shipment was executed from the Mundra port custom cleared by the Mundra team. Some images of Cargo above ….

Sevenseas Chennai handles Transport & installation for corporate customer

Sevenseas bagged the transport and installation for a corporate client for their Pan India offices during the beginning of the year, we had mentioned in our Newsletter just before lockdown about the handling at Hyderabad. In the month of May Chennai handled the next lot. The activity involved Customs clearance, Transportation and Unloading of 21 x 40’ & 2 x 20’ at consignee’s site. Once again a tough ask during these troubled times. The entire operations viz., clearance, transportation, unloading & delivery at the designated places in Site was completed in 7 days and 2 nights. This task was accomplished despite containers piling up in the CFS due to Covid 19 and Space & manoeuvring constraints at Site. The customer was gracious enough to appreciate the team with a small note as enclosed below ….

Mental Health during Corona times – Outlook from India The social and economic impact exposed by the pandemic will result in mass unemployment, depleted social safety nets, starvation, increase in gender-based violence, homelessness, alcoholism, loan defaults and millions slipping into poverty. This post-Covid scenario will be a cause for an increase in chronic stress, anxiety, depression, alcohol dependence, and self-harm as per studies published . As the Covid-19 continues to take lives across the world, there’s this public health crisis of mental health that is slowly becoming visible . Mental health related issues may perhaps unleash more death and despair than the coronavirus itself. Going by the history of pandemics, and the knock-on effects of an inevitable economic downturn, India is looking at a mental health crisis, with suicide-related deaths as its lead indicator. At-risk include the people with pre-existing mental health issues, Covid-19 survivors, frontline medical workers, young people, differently abled people, women, workers in the unorganised sector, and the elderly. These are statistics released by study groups across India and seems to be an issue globally too…As pscychiatrists say we need to make it a time of learning to become better versions of ourselves and learn to shut ourselves atleast for some time from negative news . Easy to say but tough to practice . Do we have a choice ???

Dear Mr. Saravanan,

I sincerely appreciate you Mr. Sai Krishna, Mr. Vijay and entire team involved in this task. This is

the first task which we have awarded to Sevenseas Chennai, which was not only big but also very

critical having strict time lines to meet.

Appreciate your commitment and zeal to complete the task. Sai Krishna pushed a lot but it was in

good faith and good intention which ultimately got the results.
