Reminder: Mass Time Changes
During this Spring, the parish put out a survey and Fr. Jim announced a new Mass schedule. As a re-sponse to many requests, some of the Mass times will change the weekend after Labor Day. Beginning Saturday, September 10, the Vigil will be at 4:30PM. The Masses on Sunday morning will re-main the same, but a 5:30PM Mass will be added on Sunday evenings beginning that weekend. We are also adding a 12:15PM Mass on Holydays beginning with the Feast of the Assumption on August 15. Since the Feast is before Labor Day, the evening Mass will still be at 5:30PM. Future Holyday evening Masses will be celebrated at 7:00PM, in-stead. . Thank you for your patience as we settle into this new schedule.

News From Family Ministries
Dear Families, I look forward to Summer each year not only for the warm weather and sunshine, but also because things tend to slow down for a few months. No homework and less activities equates to more fam-ily time. Let’s use this time to rejuvenate our fami-ly’s lives by eating more meals together. In addi-tion to catching up with each other at these meals, let’s take turns reading a daily devotional or dis-cuss the Sunday Gospel! Our Holy Father encour-ages us to read the Gospel every day and feels that it is particularly important practice for families. “The Gospel, read and meditated on in the family, is like good bread which nourishes the hearts of everyone,” he said. While we are having our meal, let’s replenish our souls as well as our bodies. With many blessings,

11 Cents: Becoming Equipped (Part 3)

We can help lead others to Heaven, and it is our job
to at least try. Maybe this is done by just bringing a
little bit more joy into that cashier’s day by being
friendly to her. Maybe this is done by chatting with a
manual laborer who is working on your house. We
have countless opportunities to share our love of
Jesus, directly and indirectly.
Here are some direct and practical steps to evange-
lize, building on last week’s thoughts:
1.When talking to others, bring up your Catholic
faith. Find any way possible to fit it into conversa-
tions. Mention which parish you go to, or explain why
you can’t attend an event because you’re going to
something at the Church. Find a way to share that
you are Catholic.
2.When you do that, others will share their opinions
of the Catholic Church, their own experience of reli-
gion, or often times how they “grew up Catholic.”
3.Then you LISTEN and truly listen.
4.Then you have a few options:
A) You share from the heart how your faith is
helpful in your life
B) You gently correct their misconceptions,
or you gently share the good experiences you have
had of being Catholic. Don’t be judgmental or self-
righteous.
C) If you can, (and this is the absolutely best
thing to do), share a personal story about how God
has moved in your life. This can be how your faith
has been strengthened through the work of God in
your life. It is hard to disagree with a personal story.

We Welcome Our Newest Saints Peter and Paul Parishioners
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Collingsgru and family Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Zukus Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Casero and family Mr. and Mrs. David Pintar and family Mr. and Mrs. Stalzer and family Mr. Josh Kummerer Mr. Paul Mentzer Mr. Thomas Major Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hardardt Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Mazzio and family Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Scudieri Mr. and Mrs. Scott Greenwald and family Ms. Heather Delorenzo and family Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pletcher Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Mina and family Mr. and Mrs. James Henry We are glad you are here!
D) If they mention frustrations with the
priest abuse scandal or historical mistakes that
Catholic leaders have made, your can clarify that
our Church is made of up imperfect humans. We
do not put our faith in humans but in God.
Here are some other ways to evangelize:
1.You can offer to pray for a person when you hear
about something difficult that they or their families
or going through. Then make sure to actually pray
for them (even if it is right at that moment in silence
to yourself).
2.You can invite people, especially fallen away
Catholics, to Mass or an event at Church. Some-
times a Women’s Evening Cafe or a Men’s Night
are less intimidating than Mass especially if the
person did not grow up Catholic. You can always re
-invite them at a later occasion if they don’t take
you up on it then right away.
3.You can also pray and fast for the person’s con-
version and for all who distance themselves from
God. Pray that their heart might be softened and
re-opened to the Divine.
