Fashion designers such as Stella McCartney have found tremendous success in boldly marketing animal-free products. Stella McCartney calls it “Skin-Free Skin”.
Other brands such as Matt & Nat focus on sustainability and being animal-free is part of that marketing strategy.
Tesla is considered a trend-setter by consumers.
Tesla only offers 100% synthetic materials.
As a result, other OEMs are creating all-synthetic premium trim levels.
Even the most conservative OEM of all, Bentley, has publicly stated their desire to have a synthetic trim level to meet consumer demand.

How does it work?Thin film coatings add a barrier to the surface that prevents the adherence of unwanted stains from denim and other pigments.

CGT has developed secret-until-lit smart surfaces as part of the user interface. This fully functional Mini concept from Harman uses capacitive sensing and Reveal® to replace all physical switches, reducing weight.

CGT’s Reveal® smart surface can be used as a capacitive touch switch. In this example, the complex, expensive, and heavy seat control switch has been incorporated into the door panel.
In addition to the weight and cost reduction, it provides a cleaner look and may reduce warranty costs.
