Testing Model - Regular Section Generator 1:200 This model tests whether a regular section can generate adaptive space for programmatic needs. The result received a lot of critique aboutover-sized footprint and poor spatial quality under the surface. Perforation and extrusion is needed for this to be successful. We also realized that lofted geometry are very complicated to resolve, both by hand and by computer. Well thought surface geometriesis necessary to be treated as one entity before exact geometries can be resolved.

Testing Model o New Geometry To resolve the raised pedestrian edge with the lower water edge, a geometry came up with the strategy. This hexagonal shaped connection strategy allows smooth circulation while creating pocket spaces for spectators or commercial spaces.

next page: Imagining the DevelopmentAs the city grows, pedestrian bridges will develop and slowly grow into completely closed podiums. Tra c and pedestrians are visuallyand physically separated, allowing intervention at certain points. Street life and urban arrangements will be lifted up to podium levels.

Our design resolved the edge condition, where the podium ends at the edge of the city.
