Enhance Your Strokes & Technique: Video AnalysisWith the rapid growth of technology within the past two decades, the game of tennishas evolved! Video analysis has been a tool that touring professionals have beenutilizing to analyze strokes and replay match footage in order to elevate their game tothe next level. This new technology should not be limited to touring professionals. Everytennis player is able to take advantage of video analysis. It is as simple as setting upyour smartphone against the fence while you are playing so that you are able to reviewlater. How many times has your tennis coach repeated a phrase such as “low to high”or “close the face of the racquet?” Players often think they are doing what theyinstructor is saying, but a lot of the time that is not the case. You can learn a ton aboutyour technique by taking the time to record and watch yourself hit a certain shot thatyou have been working on.Why Video Analysis?· Elite players usually have more technically sound strokes over recreational players· The human eye only sees around 30 frames per second and misses key bodymovements/swing path/contact point· Helps identify/eliminate technical flaws and inconsistencies· Players are then able to visualize their strokes for better repetitions on the court· Aids in realization that you are not swinging the way you imaginedTestimonial from Rebecah Whaller (New Local Tennis Player at Rome Tennis Center atBerry College):“The use of video analysis should be expected during a tennis lesson/clinic.
