Our SCC is hosting a parent night tomor- row night May 31 st ; parents in attendance have the opportunity to win one of 2 very cool family prize baskets. Please see the SCC pamphlet for details. I appreciate everyone’s patience as we await repairs to our parking lot. When the work is complete we will open to the usual traffic. School is winding down for another year and June promises to be a very busy month. Please keep your newsletter calendars close at hand for important upcom- ing dates. May Safety Patrol Report:

Thank You to the Safety Patroller's and the Captains for the

Month of May. You have had to battle the winds, snow, rain

and heat this past month.

Gr. 4 School Assembly

Gr. 4 will be hosting the

last school assembly this year on

June 17th @ 9:00. Everyone is

welcome to attend!

Spirit Day

Gr. 4 has chosen our

spirit day “ Twins Day” to be held on

June 17th.

Gr. 3 Field Trip

All students in Grade Three will be

going to the Melfort Museum and Star

City Colony on June 2, 2016. They will

be leaving the school @ 9:00 and

returning at 4:30.

SCC Report:

Please remember Parent Night is tomorrow,

Tuesday, May 31 @ 7:00-8:30. Lily Robinson will be

here presenting on “Raising Respectful Children”

This workshop will focus on CRES school virtues of

Compassion, Respect, Excellence and Safety. This will

be backed up with information on brain development,

self regulation, why we need consistency and aren't and

educator roles in creating a community. Childcare will

be provided.

CRES Family Pancake Breakfast on June 1st, 2016

from 8:00-9:00. Everyone Welcome!

Swimming at Pasquia Park

On Tuesday, June 28th grades

1-4 will be spending the

AFTERNOON swimming at

Pasquia Park. Please watch for

permission slips being sent

home in June.

Report Cards may be picked up

on Thursday, June 30th

9:00-11:00 a.m.

Please send a self addressed,

stamped envelope if your

child(ren) will not be here that

morning.

Please note: Buses will not run on that day!

Included with your child’s report card is a

school calendar and classroom supply list

for the fall. Be sure to keep it for

further reference.

Parents please check the lost and found

before summer holidays, what is left will

be sent to the Salvation Army!

Our annual Play Day will be held on Friday, June 10th. The day will begin at

10:00 a.m for all grades. We have divided the students into 2 groups:

Group 1will consist of students in Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2.

Group 1 will take part in 6 events:

1) Softball throw 2) Bean Bag toss

3) Running the stake 4) Soccer ball kick for accuracy

5) Long jump 6) Jump Rope

Ribbons will be presented to K, Grades 1 & 2 students in the gym at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Group 2 will consist of Grade 3 and 4 students. These students will participate in 7 of the 8

events:

1) Obstacle race 2) Long jump

3) High jump 4) 80m dash

5) Running the flag 6) Softball throw

7) Free throw 8) Kicking for accuracy

The relays will take place @ approximately 1:30 on the west side of the playground. The Tug-O-

War will take place immediately after the relays in the same general area. Make sure to check the

schedule for Play Day that is attached to the newsletter.
