Proposed Mater ia l PaletteDeep Redwood Finish
Existing Brick
Dark Taupe CMU Finish
The new wood redwood will bring a warmth to the ex-terior of the building. Using a wood with deep red tones will integrate well with the hues of the existing brick. The suggested material would be redwood with a deep ex-terior nish. Another option would be a faux wood clad-ding with similar characteristics. The polyurethane pan-els can be found here: fauxpanels.com. The suggested colors are: Oxford Rustic Barn wood PanelOak Veneer PanelBronzed Bamboo Panel
Exterior Taupe paint may be found at Sherwin Williams. The speci ed color is Black Bean SW6006 or Chateau Brown SW7510. Home Depot also carries a similar Taupe color called BISON BROWn by BEHR .
Large Succulents
Small Succulents
Small Colorful Succulents
Succulents were chosen for the landscaping. These plants are easy to care for and need to be watered only once a week. Large succulents would be placed in the large planters. The toned down color pairs well with the rich building materials.
Small succulents grow fast and can serve well to ll and brighten a planter. Using a sand mixture when planting the succulents will give them a purple-pink color on the edges. They can be found at the Yuba City Farmers Market or any local Nursery.
Colorful succulents brighten up the exterior of the building and planters.
The existing brick is emphasized by the contrast of the taupe CMU walls. This enhancement will tie in well with the brick surroundings on D Street
Mater ia l Use
The wood material would be used as cladding, bench-es, and planters throughout the building.
