Kindergarten teachers in LCPS do not input academic grades into the portal for the first quarter; however, we do input “Characteristic That Affect Learning” Grades-behavior. At the end of the second-fourth quarters, grades will be placed on ParentVue at the END of each grading period.

• Virtual First Day Folder--forms are located on the Parent Vue Portal site

• See Ms. Gloria Berini (front office) if you need login information• The Computer Lab is open for you to complete the forms• Paper copies will be provided upon request

Assessments• Formative Assessments: are assessments that are administered

throughout the learning process. Formative assessments are “spot checks” throughout the instructional day. We use the results of these assessments to make instructional decisions.

• Summative Assessments: are assessments that check what a student has learned. These types of assessments are given toward the end of a unit or at a point when children should have learned certain skills.

• DRA and PALS (Formative in the Fall, Summative at the end of the year)

• Report Cards: Students are working towards a learning target or standard the whole year. Kindergarten students have until the end of the school year to meet each standard. This is different than 1st-5th grades. Grading scale= Academic knowledge (B = below, P = progressing, M=meets) Characteristics that Affect Learning (C = consistently, I = Inconsistently)
