Mrs. Saladin has been a teacher for

27 years. She has always taught in the Robla School District and lives in Sacramento with her husband. She has a grown up son who graduated from UC Berkeley and he now lives in the Bay Area.

Mrs. Hansen has been a teacher for 18 years, 16 of those in the Robla School District. She lives in Woodland with her husband and junior high son.

Goals ForKindergarten standards

– Letters/sounds/sight words/beginning readers

– Legible printing with phonetic spelling • How to hold a pencil

– Count to at least 100 by 1’s and 10’s– Write numbers correctly to at least 20.– Sorting and patterning– Identify shapes– Beginning understanding of time and

calendar

Classroom Rules

•Listen when someone is talking.

•Stop when someone asks you to.

Good Work Awards• Earn them for working like

kindergarteners.• Receive 5 for bringing back homework.• Earn them in class, on the playground,

etc.• Spend them on Fridays to choose from

the grab tubs.• “Pay” teachers for misbehavior.

School Supplies• Some classroom items are

provided by the teachers• Each student needs a backpack

daily.• Only School Related Items at

school.• Come to school ready to learn and

get PLENTY of sleep.

Homework

• Kindergarten homework is weekly.• Goes home on Monday – return on

Friday.• If complete – 5 GWA and Friday Frolic.• Also, 5 GWA for returning your folder.• Bookworm envelopes of decodables.• Daily books from class library.

Field TripsWe are planning on a trip to the

Sacramento Zoo and possibly Fairytale Town. It is all pending budget and costs.

SnacksAt our morning recess we have a quick

snack. We are looking for donations of healthy

snacks or money to purchase snacks for the class.
