Running Brook Elementary School PTA and

Present a Fundraiser of Olympic Proportions!

Dates: September 7th – September 28th

All students who turn in a Charleston Wrap order or donation (any amount) will receive a personalized Olympic Medal in the RBES Winner’s Circle!

All students who sell 3 or more items or give at least a $20 donation to our PTA will be entered into our Platinum Prize drawing!

All students who sell 5 or more items or give at least a $40 donation to our PTA will be entered into both our Gold and Platinum Prize drawings!

The homeroom with the highest participation in either fundraiser % will win ALL THREE prizes listed above AND a FREE trip to the RBES Book Cart for the whole class!

Homework

Reading Journal comes home on Friday and should be returned on Monday. We hope that your child is enjoying sharing his/her reading with you!

Math Homework is in a monthly calendar format, with activities from Mon-Thurs. It should be turned in at the end of each month. We will begin next week (October 1).

Reading Logs will start next week. They are to be completed M-Th nights and returned on Fridays. Remember- your child can LISTEN to stories, as well as read to you!

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Rewards!!! – Tickets (1 point), Golden Tickets (2 points),

and Paw Prints (10 points) to spend at Paw Mart

– SUPER Club Running Brook : Planned for the whole team, once every month (ex. Lunch bunch, extra recess, or wacky centers). May be done with 3rd grade!

– Class-wide reward systems

Consequences… – Warnings (many are given, including a statement

of what the child SHOULD be doing)– Yellow Note (given for disruptive behavior that

continues after warnings. Ex. not following directions, using unkind words)

– Red Note (given for unsafe behavior or a pattern of yellow notes (Ex. Hitting a classmate, running from classroom)

Make dismissal changes in writing, call the school for last minute changes.Return all forms quickly.Write your child’s name on all possessions. Provide a peanut-free snack. We do not generally keep extra snacks on hand.
