After attending one or more of these fun events, grab some popcorn and your friends for a relaxing night at the movies! Two of the biggest superheroes will battle it out in the much antici-pated “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. It’s been nearly two years since Superman’s (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) launch-es his own crusade against the Man of Steel. In “God’s Not Dead 2”, Grace (Melissa Joan Hart), a Christian teacher, is forced before a judge for honestly answering a question about Jesus in the

classroom. With the principal and superintendent joining forces with a zealous civil liberties group, Grace faces an epic court case that could cost her a career she loves and expel God from the class-room. The film, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” is the long-awaited follow-up to the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time. Written by Academy Award® nominee Nia Vardalos, who stars along-side the entire returning cast of favorites, the film reveals a Portokalos family secret that will bring the beloved characters back together for an even bigger and Greeker wedding. “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he’s forced to abandon the only home he’s ever known. In the film, “captain America: civil War”, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Captain America (Chris Evans) believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without govern-ment interference. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sharply disagrees and supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) must pick a side.

The Dali MuseumWhen next in St. Petersburg, say hello to DaliBy FRED WRIGHTContributing Writer

In the cluster of museums in downtown st. Petersburg, there is one that is easy to miss but very hard to forget. inside, there are massive oil

paintings full of religious symbols, political state-ments and humor. Outside, there is a meditation garden, a wishing tree and an unequaled view of Tampa Bay.

The salvador Dali Museum pays homage to the Spanish Surrealist with the largest collection of the artist’s works outside of Spain. Free docent-guided tours provide insight into what sometimes seems an overwhelming swirl of images.

The Dali also offers an unparalleled architectural statement. From the street, the museum looks like just about any three-story building; from the waterside, the western walls explode outward with glass and steel. inside, a staircase reach upward in a spiraling variety of views, each one unique.

The Dali Museum is much more than paintings on a wall. There are three-dimensional creations by Dali as well as work by guest artists. Currently, the museum is using a whirl of multimedia to explore the artistic genius of Walt Disney, the entrepreneur who has made such a lasting impact on Florida. The “Disney and Dali: Architects of imagination” exhibit runs through June 12.

Another inviting aspect of the museum is the first floor Café Gala (named for Dali’s wife). Here, the limited menu features spanish cuisine. Tapas and small plates of appetizers are a specialty.

Lucky’s Tavern Announces Drone Delivery

SPECIAL TO THE NEWSFRoM stAFF REPoRts

In keeping up with a hi-tech world and in an attempt to increase sales Lucky’s Tavern in Downtown Fort Lauder-

dale has announced it will offer drone delivery on all of their alcoholic beverages.

We asked owner Jon Slack to explain this up and coming

technology in more detail. “We are very excited about this new technology,” says Slack. “Our drones can reach all the way to the beach. We all know places

like the Elbo Room can get very busy so for example if Mikey or Jake are in

the weeds just give us a call and our drones will be to you in minutes”.

“Whether you are at Elbo Room, listening to music at The Poorhouse or sitting at the back bar in Original Fat Cats our drones are able to deliver an ice cold beverage directly to your bar stool. The possibilities are endless,” says Slack.

We also asked Slack if other bar own-ers would get upset with Lucky’s Tavern infringing on their business, Slack replied “That may be an issue however, we are willing to fight in court if necessary to

defend our rights to sell booze in other people’s establishments. Slack

says; Fat Cats may own their bar but they don’t own the air!”

We also did a Q&A with Slack to get more information.

Q: What products will you offer for delivery?

A: Everything! if you want an ice cold beer, shot of jameson and a pickle back, we’ve got you covered. We can also offer any products sold by our bathroom at-tendants as well. So items such as tic tacs or a single cigarette can all be delivered to you. We are even offering cologne to those in need and will be charging per spray.

Q: How does a person pay for the drink(s) being delivered and what are the fees?

A: our drones are capable of tak-ing all major credit cards. since this is Premium service we will be adding a $6 convenience fee, 35% gratuity and an Air Traffic Control surcharge of 12% on the total sale.

Lucky’s Tavern will launch their drones on the first of April. We invite the public to witness this extraordinary event. Slack says; “he expects to be fighting back tears when he sees all his drones delivering ice cold beverages throughout Fort Lauderdale”.

lucky’s Tavern is located in the Historic Downtown Himmarshee Village at 214 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Miami hurricanes fall short of Title, but season has to be Considered a success

spoRTsBy AlleN leViN sPoRts EditoR

florida panthers Looking to Make Exciting playoff Run

Miami heat discover Team identity, Look Like Contender

The Miami Hurricanes Basketball

team ultimately came up short in their quest for a national championship, but this season surely captivated the attention of Canes fans.

The Canes finished with an impressive 27-8 record, third place in the vaunted Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

It was such a fun season for the team, who had notable wins over Utah, Butler, Syracuse (who is currently in the Final Four), Duke and No. 3 Virginia.

The big wins and strong record had them ranked No. 10 in the country at the season’s end.

The Hurricanes have been good in previous seasons, but the real measure of their growth was their 13-5 record in the ACC, which has basketball powerhouses like UNC, Duke, Louisville, Syracuse and Wake Forest.

Miami entered the Big Dance with big goals and things looked promising when they beat Buffalo and Wichita State in the first two rounds to ad-vance to their second Sweet 16 of the past 4 years under head coach Jim Larranaga.

However, the team couldn’t keep the magic alive, ultimately falling to Villanova, who ended up advancing to the Final Four.

The Hurricanes will lose their top two players in Sheldon McClellan and Angel Rodriguez, who will graduate and look to extend their careers into the NBA.

Fortunately, the team will likely retain Davon Reed and Ja’Quan Newton. In addition, Coach Larranga has brought in one of the best recruiting classes in program history, hauling the ninth best class in the country (raked by 247 Sports).

With the returning players and incoming talent, the Hurricanes Basketball program surely has a bright future.

Before the NBA All-Star Break, the Miami Heat looked like a team that didn’t have a true identity and seemed headed for an

early playoff exit. They had just been routed by the dominant San

Antonio Spurs and found out a few short days later that Chris Bosh’s blood clot issue had resurfaced.

With Bosh out indefinitely, injuries to Tyler Johnson and Beno Udrih, and an unsure rotation, the Heat had a rough stretch ahead.

Then something happened.A Heat team playing sans Dwyane Wade, Chris

Bosh and Hassan Whiteside came out and boldly beat a strong Atlanta Hawks team on the road, while scoring 115 points.

From there, a new Miami Heat team was born: Instead of the half court, slow-paced offense that had limited their scoring all season, the Heat found a rhythm as up-tempo, fast-paced team led by Goran Dragic.

Now, Miami is 14-6 since the Break, having topped the century mark 17 times in 20 games and are poised to be a top 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.

That is what you call a turn around. The Heat have been able to

withstand the loss of Bosh, and have been propelled by the emergence of Whiteside and second-round rookie Josh Richardson.

In addition, Luol Deng has found his role as a power forward in a small ball lineup, while Dragic is playing at the pace he wants and Whi-teside is dominating off the bench.

The Heat will enter the playoffs with momentum and will be a very tough out. If things keep going there way, there is no reason they can’t advance to the Conference Finals and a much anticipated showdown with the LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Florida Panthers. The big South Florida success story this

year. The Cats have seemingly come out of nowhere

to become one of the best teams in the National Hockey League.

After a rough start, they produced a 12-game winning streak and have been in contention for first place in the Atlantic Division ever since.

With 6 games to go (as of the writing of this article), the Panthers are tied for first place (93 points) and in prime position to have home ice in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Florida has had the perfect combo of youth and experience, led by the ageless JaromirJagr and the youthful exuberance of players like Vincent Trocheck, Nick Bjugstad and Jonathan Huberdeau.

It has been an unexpected and fun story. Now, the Cats have to prove that their regular

season success was no fluke. Despite plenty of youth on the roster, they have

showed their ability to get big wins, such as their recent victories over the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning, who are both vying for a top 3 spot in the East.

Once the playoffs start, the real test will begin. But with the success they have learned from

over the past year, the Panthers will have a good shot to compete for something special in the postseason.
