LIFTED Emily Peasgood 12.30pm & 1.30pm | ASDA Lift | Free
LIFTED is a lift installation created and composed by conceptual artist Emily Peasgood. Performed by a live choir & beat boxer it brings background music to the forefront through a live musical installation of lift music that cannot be ignored. Performance begins from the Ground Floor.
The Bullet & The Base Trombone Sleepdogs 7.30pm - 9.15pm £10, cons. £8 Quarterhouse There’s a concert orchestra, trapped in a city during a military coup. Separated – lost, trying to find each other the composer is left to tell the story. With an intricate, fractured narrative & haunting soundtrack, the story comes together from the smallest of sounds.
Alexander Monk 10pm - Midnight | £4 | Lime Bar
Alex Monk draws on both the 60s & 70s acid folk movement as well as ambient & electronic experiments. References to early Eno, Coil & Robert Wyatt have been made to his work & his performances normally move between song & improvisation.
MCCI Montrose Composers’ Club 9pm - 10pm £5, £6 on door | Brewery Tap
Classically trained, with backgrounds in jazz, folk and cabaret, this five-strong collective will premiere seven genredefying new pieces at their debut concert ‘MCCI’.
Late admittance permitted following The Bullet & The Base Trombone.
Found Sounds Set Andy Backhouse | 8pm - 9pm Brewery Tap Playing from a large collection of found sounds & field recordings mixed across four decks, Andy Backhouse creates the soundscape to an imaginary landscape.
Found Sounds is the pre-event to MMCI performance at 9pm.
