Letter From ronAs a current or soon-to-be high school graduate, you are about to embark on the next phase of life’s journey. In the next twelve months and beyond, you will face some critical decisions and temptations that come from independence and peer pressure. Are you ready?

According to statistics, one in four students who enroll in a four-year private or public college will drop out, and only about half of the remaining will earn a degree. While in that first year of college, more than 44% will drink alcohol and many will experience depression and overwhelming anxiety. Most importantly, studies show that more than 80% of Christian young people turn away from God during their college years. Tragically, many college freshmen are simply not ready emotionally or spiritually for the challenges.

College is important and having direction is critical. Studies have shown that between ages 18-25 you develop the habits that stick with you for the rest of your life. Why not take some time to focus on developing leadership skills and godly character that will shape your life as you shape the future of this generation? The Honor Academy offers a unique opportunity that will strengthen and prepare you to not only withstand the struggles unique to today’s young people, but to start a revolution that will take back your generation for Christ!

Consumed by the call,

EMpoWErInG Godly MEn And WoMEn To poSSESS wisdom, vision and discipline To ExCEl AS lEAdErS WHoSE lIvES AdvAnCE THE kInGdoM.

intern LeAderShip Structure

Honor Academy interns are immersed in a structured leadership development program that has been instrumental in producing thousands of effective, passionate leaders over the last 15 years. leadership training is integrated into all aspects of the Honor Academy experience, creating a clear framework to live a life of impact and significance. The three-tiered leadership structure is designed to provide each intern with the personal attention and coaching required to develop their potential.

AssistAnt core AdvisorAn Assistant Core Advisor (ACA) is a peer leader selected by the leadership of the Honor Academy. Each ACA leads small group accountability and assists the Core Advisor in the development of their roommates.

core AdvisorEach Core Advisor (CA) oversees 12-18 undergraduate interns. Those interns make up a Core. The CA leads the discipleship of each Core and focuses on the growth of each member. CAs are Graduate Interns serving in their second and third year in the Honor Academy who have completed a rigorous selection and training program.

dorm directorEach Core Advisor reports directly to a dorm director. Through mentorship and accountability, dorm directors manage the CAs and ACAs while being highly accessible to the interns they live with in the dorms. dorm directors are accountable to the directors of Men and Women.

Be developed with other future leaders to fulfill God's plan.

Model leadership in small groups and experience successful peer accountability.

During my time at the Honor Academy, I have changed immensly in my mindsets toward relationships with men and women. Through Risen, I have learned how to see guys as brothers and not potential boyfriends. I've also learned it is

unreAched people GroupInterns are placed into an environment that emulates overseas missions. why StAy A Second yeAr?Graduate interns play an intricate role at Teen Mania. Second year interns can choose to focus on a specific area (listed below) to further their development as Godly christian leaders. Many also choose the option to continue to pursue their college education.

core Advisor core advisors are entrusted with the development of a same gender group of 10-15 undergraduate interns by shaping, mentoring, and inspiring them to become the leaders of their generation. Undergraduates seek wisdom and accountability and look to CAs for that growth. CAs receive training on topics including spiritual authority, ministry, and small group leadership. They receive ongoing weekly training from the director of the Graduate program, as well as from dorm directors and the Executive director of the Honor Academy.

mAnAGement AssociAte management associates lead all individuals within their sphere of influence, both inside and outside the workplace. They use their skills to make a major impact in today's world. They are trained to take the passion and skill they have for a department and develop that area's vision by working closely with the staff and leadership of Teen Mania Ministries. Management Associates set the temperature of leadership and mentor undergraduates in the workplace while receiving training from Teen Mania staff. This training prepares them to change the Christian and non-Christian professional workplaces of tomorrow.

The average person listens to over four hours of secular music and watches six hours of television each day. While striving to find purpose and direction, different forms of media can become a huge distraction.

• For that reason, to protect the commitment to purity and renewing the mind, interns choose to set aside secular television and secular music, and they refrain from watching r-rated movies.

As a part of the Honor Academy family, interns commit to developing and maintaining wholesome relationships with the opposite sex. • All interns commit to set aside romantic relationships during their undergraduate year.

While maturing as a young man or woman, each intern strives to honor God with his or her body. • Any stimulant such as alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, or substance that alters your ability to control your body is strictly prohibited. This includes abuse of any prescribed medications or over-the-counter drugs.

There are other standards embraced by interns. They are fully listed and available in the intern handbook.

We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, and His second coming. We believe in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God's forgiveness in His Son. We strive to achieve greater unity in all that we do within the Body of Christ.
