IN-COMPANY PROJECTPUTTING YOUR KNOWLEDGE INTO ACTIONWhat better way to test your knowledge than with a hands-on project with a company? You’ll work in teams of three and will be coached and supported by your faculty. Together you’ll analyse a specific business issue – then develop a practical solution and present it back to the company.

We deliberately left it very open to the students how to approach the project. This was a risk, but it turned out to be exactly the right decision. The commitment and effort shown by the students was exceptional. They developed a concept entirely from scratch, on their own initiative, backed up by a considerable amount of relevant research. Both the report itself and the presentation were of an extremely high quality. In our opinion, we now have a viable proposition that we are ready to develop within the next few months. Working on this project with Vlerick students was a very interesting, valuable and even fun experience. '

WHAT DO WE CONSIDER?When we are looking at a candidate’s application, we focus on three elements.

1. ACADEMIC POTENTIALOur MBA programme is rigorous – at Vlerick you cover the same amount of work in nine months that other MBAs do in two years. We look for students who can handle fast-paced academic work. We consider how you have performed academically, as well as your results on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) and the Vlerick Business Admissions test (VBAT).

2. MANAGERIAL POTENTIALThe MBA is structured to help you reach management level. You may already have some experience in this area, but at Vlerick we also consider your potential as a good manager. We look at your career so far – particularly promotions or career transitions. We’ll ask you for references, and you should select people who can confirm your management potential.

3. VLERICK POTENTIALThe Vlerick MBA experience is a partnership. The most important thing for us is whether you are a good fit for Vlerick – and if Vlerick is a good fit for you. The interview process helps us see how motivated you are. You should be able to demonstrate confidently how Vlerick fits in with your future professional and personal plans.

Our students find that the Vlerick MBA provides an exceptional return on investment. The programme is ranked 5th in the world for value by The Financial Times. This is based on costs to attend compared with how much students earn in the first three years after graduating.

Our tuition fees:Our Full-time MBA programme costs €36, 000 for the full academic year 2014-2015. It includes:

SCHOLARSHIPSWe offer partial scholarships based on individual merit and motivation. To apply write a 350-500 word essay explaining why you should qualify for a Vlerick Scholarship, and send it with your online application. If you are offered a place on the MBA programme, our Scholarships Committee will also let you know if you’ve been awarded a scholarship.

FEES, FUNDING & SCHOLARSHIPSVLERICK CORPORATE SCHOLARSHIPSOur corporate sponsors offer a limited number of partial scholarships to Vlerick students. These normally cover 25% to 50% of the tuition fee.

THE DIRK KUIJPER ENDOWMENT FUNDGenerously bequeathed by Dirk Kuijper, the fund is used to promote the Vlerick MBA as a truly international course.

KOFI ANNAN FELLOWSHIP FUNDThe most promising young professionals from a developing country can apply for a fellowship to cover the full tuition fee for a Full-time MBA at Vlerick. The Kofi Annan fellowship fund also offers successful students the opportunity to get practical experience by carrying out a project in their own country.

LOAN OPTIONSStudents on our Full-time MBA programme can also apply for a loan to cover up to 75% of their tuition fee – minus any scholarship amounts.
