    Happy Grandparent’s Day September 13, 2015

(for people hospitalized/homebound and unable to attend Mass)

Christian Stewardship takes a positive view on money. It

sees money not only as a medium of exchange, but as a

symbol of the person who has it. The way we acquire it,

use it, and share it, we are revealed in those actions.

    PRAYER CORNER

    Prayer for Grandparents

Lord Jesus, You were born of the Virgin Mary, the

daughter of Saints Joachim and Anne. Look with love on

grandparents the world over. Protect them! They are a

source of enrichment for families, for the Church and for

all of society. Support them! As they grow older, may

they continue to be for their families, strong pillars of

Gospel faith, guardians of noble domestic ideals, living

treasures of sound religious traditions. Make them

teachers of wisdom and courage that they may pass on to

future generations the fruits of their mature human and

    spiritual experience. Pope Benedict

Jesus, you are risen, so there is hope for me. You are no

longer in the power of sin, of evil! Love has triumphed,

mercy has been victorious! God’s mercy always triumphs

because God’s love is stronger than evil and death itself.

God’s love can transform our lives too. God’s love can do

    this! ----Pope Francis

(for people hospitalized/homebound and unable to attend Mass)

    Sacrament of Anointing

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a Sacrament to prepare the faithful before or at a time of surgery, serious illness, infirmity, old age, and in danger of death. It is a Sacrament to help a person be spiritually prepared and opened to the gift of healing through anointing of holy oil. The Bishop blesses this oil at the Chrism Mass every year.

Anyone anticipating surgery, is seriously ill or infirm can be anointed. The Priest should be notified well before the need if possible. Therefore, the Sacrament should be administered even before the person goes into a hospital. The Sacrament of Anointing should be prepared for by the celebration of the Sacrament of Penance (Confession).

In case of emergency, hospital personnel should be notified that a Catholic Priest needs to be called for the Anointing of the person in an extreme situation.

Archdiocese of Santa Fe - Sacramental Marriage

Finding Love and Life in the Divine Plan

to promote the Sacrament of Marriage

Although marriage remains a blessing from God, Original

Sin has had grave consequences for married life. As a

break with God, it ruptured the original communion

between man and woman . . . Jesus healed this rupture

when He raised marriage to the dignity of a sacrament.
