APRIL is Month of the Military Child Please join MWR in celebrating and honoring the military child to thank them for all their

many sacrifices as family members. All activities and events scheduled throughout the

month are free! Here are a few of the key events happening:

Purple Up! Show your support by wearing purple on Monday, April 15. Purple

symbolizes all branches of the military.

KidFest is a fun-filled day of games prizes, and crafts at the Markham School Age

Center on April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

TeenFest is a special event planned by Teens at the Youth Center on April 20 from

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

April is also Child Abuse Prevention Month

Family Advocacy Program is hosting a variety of classes throughout the month of April

such as Child Safety, Play Mornings, Baby Bundles and Parenting classes. For more

Sign-up for the Walking Program

Participate in a 6 week walking for fitness program on post –every Tuesday and Thursday

from 9 to 10 a.m. Registration forms are available online at Walking Form or visit Graves

Little League – Season Kick-off April 13

Fort Belvoir Little League Opening Day ceremony is April 13 starting at 10 a.m. at the 21st

Run/Walk – April 20 Registration is open until April 14. Come out and run with other race enthusiasts or just

test your own time. Bring your team of family, friends and neighbors to cheer you on! The

Golf Demo Days

Golfers are invited to visit the Golf Course Pro Shop for one of the Demo and Fitting Days in

April.

Callaway Demo Day: Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Titleist Fitting Day: Friday, April 26, 2 to 6 p.m.

Newcomers Orientation – April 16

Welcome Newcomers to Fort Belvoir! Orientation is at the Army Community Services

The Truth about Money with Ric Edelman – April 16

Bring your financial questions to Ric Edelman on Tuesday, April 16 and you may be

featured on his TV show! Ric is taping a live audience question and answer evening at the

Fort Belvoir Community Center for his nationally televised show. Catered reception starts

at 6 p.m. The show starts promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets are free but space is limited. Please

Financial Readiness Lunch & Learn Series

Financial Readiness Program is offering series of free class at lunch time on variety of

Atlantic City Day Trip– April 27

Come join Leisure Travel Services for a Saturday getaway to Atlantic City, NJ. Cost $45 per

Travel Fair– May 2

Community Center is hosting their annual Travel Fair Event on Thursday, May 2 from 10

The Golf Club has two seating times for Mother’s Day Brunch: 10:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30
