CUBECITYTECTONIC AND STEREOTOMIC, AS DISCOV-ERED IN THE FIRST SEVERAL WEEKS, CAN BE DESCRIBED AS POLAR OPPOSITES. WHILE TEC-TONIC STRUCTURES CAN BE SEEN AS ADDITIVE, STEREOTOMIC IS CONSIDERED MORE SUB-TRACTIVE. AFTER STUDYING BOTH ELEMENTS WITHIN THE FIRST UNIT, IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT NOTHING CAN BE ENTIRELY ONE FORM, BUT RATHER A HYBRIDIZATION OF BOTH. AL-THOUGH OUR MODELS WERE SEPARATE FROM ONE ANOTHER, THEY ALL WORKED TOGETHER VERTICALLY, HORIZONTALLY, AND DIAGONALLY TO CREATE A SPACIAL CONVERSATION WITH-IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS. WITH THE INSPIRA-TION OF FAMOUS ARTWORKS SUCH OF THAT OF THEO VAN DOESBURG, WE WERE ABLE TO TEST THIS THEORY AND FURTHER MORE CREATE CUBE CITY.

BY THE OBJECT ITSELF, AND THE SPACE SUR-ROUNDING IT. WITHIN THIS UNIT, THIS IDEA
WAS EMPHASIZED BY THE CREATION OF A CEN-NTROIDAL VOID, CENTROIDAL OBJECT, AND
LINEAR AND CLUSTERED COMPOSITE FIGURES. BY COMBINING ALL OF THESE IDEAS WITH
THE SHAPES OF LOUISE NEVELSON’S FAMOUS SCULPTURES. WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE A NEW FORM THAT EMBODIED BOTH FIGURE
AND THE GROUND THAT SURROUNDED IT.
PRIMORDIALPAVILLIONAFTER ANALYZING NA HOUSE, TWO CHARACTER-ISTICS WERE SEEN TO DOMINATE THE HOUSE THROUGH BOTH PLAN AND SECTION. THE HOME’S TECTONIC STRUCTURE WAS CREATED BY THIN COLUMNS, CREATING THE FOUNDATION FOR THE 21 SHIFTING PLATFORMS IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE “LEVELS” OF THE HOME. TOGETHER THEY CREATED A LARGE SPACE DIVIDED INTO SEVERAL SMALLER ROOMS. THIS ESTABLISHED A SPACIAL HIERARCHY OVERALL DESPITE THE VAST ARRAY IN PLATFORM HEIGHTS. BY TAKING BOTH THE SECTIONAL AND PLANAR QUALITIES OF THE ORIG-INAL PRECEDENT, THIS PAVILLION WAS CREAT-ED TO REPRESENT THE COLUMNS, CIRCULATION, SPACIAL DIVISION, AND MULTIDIMENSIONAL SHIFTING OF THE ORIGINAL FUJIMOTO DESIGN.
