For 20 years, this exciting Festival has been celebrating the unique flavours of Esperance through a variety of art, culture, music, food and sport events.

I am pleased to announce the line-up for March 16th – 19th 2017 will offer the biggest and boldest Festival to date. With offerings to tantalise everyone, this community event will solidify why Esperance is the best place to experience the wonders of a coastal town.

The committee of the Festival of the Wind are an imaginative and dedicated team of volunteers that have worked tirelessly to ensure enjoyment for all attendees.

The Shire of Esperance are a proud sponsor of the Festival and we wish them the best of luck with what will be an amazing celebration.

Cr. Victoria Brown.

Play in the Sci-tech tent, marvel at the roving pirate performers, learn new circus skills, join one of the many free workshops and yoga classes on offer or sample the sustainable activities for the young, and the young at heart.

Join us for an unforgettable festival opening event on the Esperance Foreshore. Beginning with Welcome To Country by Nyungar elders and leading into an enchanting large scale puppet performance re-telling the Creation/Dreamtime story of how Frenchman Peak was formed. Gail Yorkshire-Selby’s illustrations and recording of this story have been instrumental in this project. Many members of the Esperance Nyungar community have been involved in the planning process, the construction of the puppets and the development of this performance with puppeteer Karen Hethey. This evening they share an ancient story, and its many lessons with the community.
