Join us for an unforgettable festival opening event on the Esperance Foreshore. Beginning with Welcome To Country by Nyungar elders and leading into an enchanting large scale puppet performance re-telling the Creation/Dreamtime story of how Frenchman Peak was formed. Gail Yorkshire-Selby’s illustrations and recording of this story have been instrumental in this project. Many members of the Esperance Nyungar community have been involved in the planning process, the construction of the puppets and the development of this performance with puppeteer Karen Hethey. This evening they share an ancient story, and its many lessons with the community.
