Directed by Archie Croft ML House Play THE HYPOCHONDRIAC by Moliere in the Caccia Studio Thursday 3rd November - Saturday 5th November In this classic French comedy we follow Argan, an obnoxious curmudgeon who is obsessed with the idea that he is gravely ill. Scintillating word play, agonizing farce and feverish invention all follow in this modern adaptation of Moliere’s final masterpiece. Directed by Marco Liviero TEWH House Play RHINOCEROS by Ionesco in the Farrer Theatre Thursday 10th November - Saturday 12th November “To convince them you’d have to talk to them. And to talk to them I’d have to learn their language”. It is modern day. A mass metamorphosis strikes across a provincial French town. In a world where humanism is all washed up, one man struggles to maintain his identity in the midst of a world of force and animal violence. Through tragedy and humour, bleakness and farce, Ionesco continues to surprise us with this startling and clairvoyant vision of the twentieth century. Devised by the boys, assisted by Rebecca Steel, Scott Handy and Annabel Morley JDN House Play MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT by Eric Idle and John Du Prez in the Farrer Theatre Thursday 1st December - Saturday 3rd December This 2005 Tony Award winner for Best Musical is a musical comedy “lovingly ripped off” from the 1975 film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and features a bevy (or possibly a brace) of beautiful show girls, witch burnings (cancelled due to health and safety) not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people. Spamalot: be prepared to Laughalot. Directed by Andrew Powles A LEVEL DEVISED PIECE in the Empty Space Saturday 14th January A Level drama students perform in an exciting piece of contemporary physical theatre. Inspired by the works of Theatre de Complicite, the boys have devised a fast paced, energetic, multi-layered exploration of happiness. Guided by Rebecca Steel MAG House Play POMONA by Alistair McDowall in the Caccia Studio Thursday 19th January - Saturday 21st January “Lot of talk about people disappearing...Pomona’s a place that finds itself in those conversations. I don’t know why. But if you are looking for someone lost. Might be a place to look.” Ollie’s sister is missing. Searching Manchester in desperation, she finds all roads lead to Pomona - an abandoned concrete island at the heart of the city. Mysterious, surreal and compelling, The Caccia Studio is transformed for this first English revival of the smash hit by Alistair McDowall. Directed by Harry Williams Independent Play BARBARIANS by Barrie O’Keeffe in the Caccia Studio Tuesday 31st January - Thursday 2nd February It’s 1977. Three unruly lads from Lewisham leave school without hope or ambition. Comic anarchy follows as Jan, Paul and Louis try to fight their way into a society rife with unemployment and rejection. Bubbling tensions erupt with chilling consequences. A timeless script, eerily relevant to Britain today, takes us on a hilarious, vivid, and ultimately tragic journey. Directed by Harold Serero & Harry McNamara JRBS House Play CHIPS WITH EVERYTHING by Arnold Wesker in the Farrer Theatre Tuesday 7th February - Thursday 9th February “Your mates are morons, Thompson, morons. At the slightest hint from us they will disown you.. Or perhaps you wanted a court martial?” Arnold Wesker’s most popular work charts a group of young conscripts in 1950’s Britain as they struggle through basic training in the RAF. Furious, compassionate and unforgiving, it prompted the Sunday times to call it “The first play of which the establishment need be afraid.” Directed by Alexander Lass RRM House Play THE SEA by Edward Bond in the Caccia Studio Thursday 23rd February - Saturday 25th February A tempestuous squall batters a small coastal village. The sea spits a soggy body ashore. The community duly capsizes. Chaos ensues. Men go overboard. Orpheus comes out of Hell, strumming his Lyre. Can Willy earn his place in this quirk-ridden society, or will he jump back aboard? Fans, funerals and a rubber dinghy. Join us for a night of nautical storytelling with just a splash of salty humour. But when word spreads of his intended suicide he finds himself inundated with sympathetic visitors - Suddenly he’s an important man, and on the night of his proposed suicide events spiral out of control. Erdman’s celebrated satirical comedy “The Suicide” was banned by Stalin before a single performance. It’s now back, in an hilarious new version by Moira Buffini. of his freedom, could any self-respecting Yank really sign a document revoking the Declaration of Independence? Based on a true story.

due to health and safety) not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people. Spamalot: be prepared to Laughalot.
