The Master Associa- tion Pool will be closed for approximately 5 to 6 weeks, and until the KCVA receives the Final Permit for Completion. Residents with a valid Identification Card from The Village of Kings Creek Condominiums and Kings Creek Village Association, will be able to use the West-End Pool as always. We apologize for any inconvenience that this renovation process might cause you. Another project consists of repairing all the damaged wooden panels of the street lights. The wood panels will be replaced and painted as necessary. This is a long-term project, but if all goes well, we plan to finish it by the end of the spring. Recently, we painted the interior of our Clubhouse. We also removed the Oak Tree roots, and paved the Clubhouse Parking Area, due to the hazardous conditions. We have been informed by the KCVA accountant that, to prevent confusion and unjusti- fied late charges of your maintenance fees, you must make sure to attach the payment coupon to your check. If you are not in possession of your coupon, please be sure to indicate your account number on the Memo line of your check. It will be very helpful to write your account number, and the period of your payment, with legible handwriting. We wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! ILLEGAL DUMPING IS NOT A VICTIMLESS CRIMEIT’S A SERIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME THAT IMPACTS THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping is a serious crime that can harm our environment and make our neighborhoods look bad. Don’t try to confront an illegal dumper. Instead, write down details of the incident if you witness it, such as a description of the vehicle, vehicle markings or a license tag number.

To report an illegal dumping site on public or private property:• Report it online at: http://www.miamidade.gov/311direct/#/greetings• Call 3-1-1• Residents of Miami-Dade County are able to report neighborhood problems and

code violations using 311Direct, a mobile application. 311Direct can be down-loaded for free in the iTunes store for Apple users or in the Google Play store for Android users.

You can watch a video here: https://youtu.be/OjMCe2nq6MYIf you witness an illegal dumping incident in progress, call 911.

Avoid illegal dumping

Dumping things like tires, debris, old furniture and hazardous materials not only harms the environment and lowers property values, but results in millions of dollars spent on enforcement and cleanup costs. If Miami-Dade County provides waste service to your residence, consider your op-tions instead of dumping materials illegally:• Request a Bulky Waste Pickup• Deliver your items to a Trash & Recycling Center• Visit a Home Chemical Collection Center

Private contractors can pay a per-ton disposal fee to have materials delivered to Miami-Dade County sites.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Legacy of Love

“Everybody can be great … because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve...

You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is observed each year on the third Monday of January, near the late civil rights leader’s birthday. Every four years, the date falls a few days before the inauguration of the U.S. President. As this year finds the nation divided socially, politically and environmentally, Dr. King’s words, “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools” remind us that we must come together as communi-ties, a nation and a world or we will render ourselves extinct. Dr. King’s widow, Coretta Scott King, described the King Holiday as “…a national ‘teach-in’ on the values of nonvio-lence, including unconditional love, tolerance, forgiveness and reconciliation, which are so desperately needed to unify America. It is a day of intensive education and training Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy of Love in Martin’s philosophy and methods of nonviolent social change and conflict reconciliation.

The holiday provides a unique opportunity to teach young people to fight evil, notpeople, and to get in the habit of asking themselves, ‘what is the most loving way I can resolve this conflict?’” Dr. King stated “The time is always right to do what is right.” This year as we enjoy a day off in his honor, how will we reach out to our fellow human beings – those who look like us and those who do not; those whose beliefs align with ours and those who hold different views? It is a day to discuss our differences in a respectful manner focusing on our common goal of a bright future for all.

“To find someone who will love you for no reason, and to shower that person with reasons,

that is the ultimate happiness.” -Robert Brault

Did You Know?• 189 million stems of roses are sold in the U.S. on this

day.

• About 1 billion Valentine's Day cards are exchanged

each year. This makes it the second largest seasonal

card sending time of the year (Christmas being the

first).

• 220,000 is the average number of wedding proposals

on Valentine's Day each year.
