What is causing the climate change?

The high concentration of GHGs in the atmosphere are a result of the fossil fuels that we use to do things like heat our homes, generate our electricity, run our cars, produce consumer goods and transport food.

Current concentrations are about 380 parts per million.

How much warmer is it?

Globally, the mercury is already up more than 1 degree Fahrenheit.

When will the climate change occur?

The effects of rising temperatures aren’t waiting, They’re happening right now.

What wildlife is affected?

Caribou (reindeer) Arctic foxes Toads Polar bears Penguins Gray wolves Tree swallows Painted turtles Salmons

Some impacts from increasing temperatures are already happening.

Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the earth’s pole.

Sea level rise became faster over the last century.

Precipitation (rain and snowfall) has increased across the globe.

Signs are everywhere…

More pest invading due to warming temperatures.

This glacier was once the biggest in South America, but it is now

disappearing at a rate of 200 meters per year.

What can we do?

The question of what to do about it remains controversial.

The choices we make today will determine the climate our children inherit.
