This year’s Annual Clinical Nutrition Man- agement (CNM) Dietetic Practice Group (DPG) Symposium is “Leading System Improvement: Optimizing Or- ganizational and Patient Outcomes.” Although Clinical Nutrition Mangers (CNMs) have made significant progress in improving the quality of patient care and the environment of care in their organizations, there is still a need for improvement in these care systems. This symposium is designed for CNMs who are interested in learning more about innovative strategies that will improve systems and result in safer, higher-quality care. The topics include: 1) leading system change in a complex and highly technological health care environment, 2) using information technology to advance clinical and management components of health care, and 3) using complexity science principles to build teams. Obituaries

Sister Eleanor Anne Young, PhD,RD, July 2007, was an internationallyrecognized leader in nutrition. Sheearned a PhD in nutrition, biochemis-try, and physiology from the Universityof Wisconsin and later joined the fac-ulty of the health science center. Youngalso taught at Incarnate World Collegeand developed a nutrition curriculumtaught at the University of TexasHealth Science Center. In her career,Young was named Texas Dietitian ofthe Year, inducted into the TexasWomen’s Hall of Fame, elected as afellow of the American Institute of Nu-trition and president of the AmericanBoard of Nutrition, and presented theLenna Frances Cooper Lecture atADA’s 1982 Food & Nutrition Confer-ence & Expo.

Margaret Jean Gregg, Septem-ber 2007, was an ADA member since1949. Gregg earned a degree in dietet-ics from the University of Minnesotaand first worked at Good SamaritanHospital in Cincinnati, OH. She re-turned to Minnesota and held variousdietetic positions, culminating at Be-thesda Hospital in St Paul, MN, serv-ing as director of Dietetics. Gregg wasalso a leader in both national and Min-nesota chapters of many professionalorganizations, including being a 20-year board member of the AmericanDiabetes Association and a foundingmember and past president of the TwinCities Consulting Dietitians.

ERRATAThe “Position of the American DieteticAssociation and Dietitians of Canada:Dietary Fatty Acids” (September 2007issue, vol 107, pp 1599-1611) containedan error on page 1604, under the sub-heading, “n-3 Fatty Acids.” The thirdsentence of the paragraph reads:

The Health Professionals Follow-UpStudy reported that a 1% energy in-crease in ALA intake was associatedwith a 40% lower risk of myocardialinfarction, after adjustment for totalfat intake (69), while results from theNurses’ Health Study (114) foundthat women in the lowest quintile ofALA intake had a 38% to 40% lowerrisk of sudden cardiac death thanthose in the highest two quintiles.

The sentence should correctly read:
