Dar Al-Handasah - Shair and Partners, Giza, Egypt January 2008 – February 2012 Project Architect

Working on high end residential, commercial, retail, healthcare, hospitality projects, and prestigious urban developments. Member of a design & production team, working on conceptual design, design development, construction documents, marketing materials, and establishing and reviewing design standards.

Shamiya Extension for Makka Haram - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

- Worked on the design development and construction drawings of the external skin of the main extension building for the Mekka Haram, and I was the team leader for the north skin. The building is 6 levels of praying areas, services and circulation corridors and vestibules.

Princess Nora University - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

- Worked on designing the buildings & infrastructure utilities related to an educational complex with a total built-up area of 2.8 million m2, including 8 academic collages, 6 health sciences collages, 2 medical research laboratories, 600-bed hospital (107,000 m2), central library,

administration building, ceremonial piazza, housing units for 11,000 single students, 400 villas for senior staff housing, 1,400 apartments for junior staff housing, sports facilities, mosques and central utility plants. The project comprises several LEED-certified buildings of which three LEED Gold in addition to many modern techniques for energy conservation and renewable energy.

Residential Towers at Viva Bahariya, The Pearl - Qatar.

- Project architect and lead coordinator for three residential towers. Worked on the concept design, design development and final construction documents, including the preparation of marketing materials for two 21-storey towers (VB26 and VB27) of 53,457 m2 in built-up areas, and one 19-storey tower (VB28) of 49,734 m2 in built-up area, including basements for car-parking; a typical floor plate in the 3 towers accommodating studios (60 m2), and one-bedroom (110 m2), two-bedroom (136 m2) and three-bedroom (160 m2) apartments; public facilities and amenities; etc.

Giardino Villas, The Pearl - Qatar.

- Participated in the preparation of tender documents for a high end prestigious residential compound on a site area of 238,500 m2, comprising 83 double-storey villas of 412 m2, 165 double-storey villas of 448 m2 each, 20 double-storey villas of 530 m2 each, one 2-storey clubhouse with a built-up area of 5,360 m2, 3 entrance gates, extensive landscaping works, electrical substations, and all infrastructure utility networks (roads, water supply, irrigation, drainage, sewerage, telecommunications, etc.)

Hajj Terminal Load Center - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

- Participated in the design for the East Hajj Terminal. The terminal Area is a 2-level symmetrical oval building with an overhead 5-module tents structure, housing check-in halls, baggage claim zones, offices, duty free area and boarding lounges connected to the aircraft stands by loading bridge (total built-up area of the terminal facility: 108,036 m2). The Plaza area connects the bus parking facilities to the terminal (area: 136,100 m2). Apron 6 includes 19 aircraft stands with all related Ground Service Equipment (GSE), roads and taxiways.

Associated Consultants, Cairo, Egypt September 2007 – November 2007 Architectural Designer

- Responsibilities included design development and construction documents for architecture and interior projects. Construction supervision, coordination with structure and mechanical consultants, reviewing contractor’s drawings, and sourcing materials.
