As a child, I enjoyed the ads way more than the TV programmes

By the time I was swappingFancy Pencils in school,

I had mastered the art of marketing, negotiation &

sales …..with conviction!

Soon I had extended the ‘product offering’ to scented erasers, fancy papers & pencil sharpeners!

From then on I knew that my strengths were in Marketing & Business Development

This lead me to thinking how can I develop this further?

In 2000 I graduated from Cork Institute of Technology

Shortly after, I moved to New York in search of

or at least my version of it

There I gained vast

experience in the service industry &

learned fast, that those who worked hard

enough, could achieve

anything!

Before long, my partner & I had a business of our own

which ran successfully for 6 yrs.

By then, my fashion feet were beginning

to itchso I decided it was time to scratch

Straight to Fashion Ave in Manhattan for me!

Here, I worked with a fabric company,

that serviced most of the major US clothing brands.

On my return to Ireland, I worked as brand manager

for a Danish brand, Pieszak & an American brand, Aryn K.

& represented these brands at international tradeshows & managed accounts in the UK &

Ireland.

I learned how to gain the necessary exposure with press & new media, to add value to a brand.

I then worked at CIT Cork School of Music

Where I provided executive level administrative support & developed the schools social media strategy.

I also designed posters & publications

to promote a variety of events there.

Traditional models of TV & media are being reinvented That audience is the key Digital media is only the tool or vehicle to reach them But that doesn’t guarantee engagement Content really is king Anyone can learn the digital media skills The challenge is working in creativity into digital media to captivate the audience The result has to be about adding brand value to increase brand equity Exploring strategic partners can have a synergistic effect for both Alternative revenue streams can be exciting
