SERVICE OF BIBLE PRESENTATION

Families with children who are receiving Bibles will come to the front of the sanctuary. The pastor will hand the Bible to a parent.

PASTOR (to parents): The church believes that the Bible is an important guide for Christian living to all who read it. Having grown in reading skills to understand many words, your child comes this morning with eagerness to explore the pages of this new Bible, there to learn more about God’s plan for life. We, therefore, present to you, the parents, this Bible. Will you, in turn, present this Bible to your child, sharing the excitement and accepting the challenge to use it together that you may all experience the joy of continued Christian growth? If so, answer, “We will.”

(Parents turn to the child and give the Bible to him / her)

PARENTS (to children): We give this Bible to you, (child’s name), promising to share with you as you read and study it, that together we may grow in favor with God and all persons as Jesus did.

CONGREGATION (to parents and children): We rejoice with you as we, the church, recognize this step in your religious growth. We pray God’s continued guidance for you and your family as you use this Holy Bible in your home and in your church school classes in the years to come.
