It has created 900 jobs so far — equating to nearly a fifth of the number of civilian jobs lost when the fort closed. It also is pumping new revenue into local coffers. h Another company is investing $2.25 million to build a business park to attract small businesses. State and local government employers are breathing new life into the property; some look to expand their footprint. UPPER FREEHOLD — A 24-year-old New Jersey State Police trooper died early Saturday morning after his police cruiser struck a deer and veered off Interstate 195. Anthony Raspa was a member of the 152nd New Jer- sey State Police Class, graduating from the academy in October 2013, according to a statement from the agen- cy. State Police confirmed Raspa’s death in a post on its Facebook page. Raspa was from Highland Park. His family issued the following statement: “Today our family lost an incredible son, brother, grandson, cousin, friend and person. Anthony was a phenomenal young man with a heart of gold and a pas- sion for life.
