LONG BRANCH A 62-year-old woman and the 11-year-old girl she was raising were found dead Fridayafternoon in a first-floor apartment in a home on Lip-pincott Avenue, according to friends and family atthe scene.
About 100 adults and children who identifiedthemselves as friends and family waited at the in-tersection of Lippincott Avenue and HalburtonPlace for news about the deaths.
A distraught Lorraine Colbert said the dead wom-an was her twin sister, Joan Colbert, and the girl wasVeronica Roach. She said she did not know how theydied.
Colbert said her 30-year-old daughter, Markey
Butcher, found the woman dead in the house, alongwith the girl, whom she had been raising since thechild was 3 months old. Their relationship could notbe determined last night.
Police were tight-lipped about what happened,although law enforcement officials did confirmthat two people were dead in the home. There was alarge police presence in front of the two-story, yel-low framed house, which is a half-block from the
