TMS Overview

• Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

• Support for deep brain stimulation

● Research for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Alzheimer's, Chronic Pain, Parkinson’s, etc.

Dec 14-06

Problem Statement

• TMS has little support for deep brain stimulation

• No low cost alternative options for research development in TMS

• Current designs lack enhanced control, reliability, and pulse shaping

Dec 14-06

Goal

Create an Amplifier Control Circuit that will allow researchers to explore deep brain TMS to provide solutions for difficult brain conditions

Risks

Dec 14-06

Hardware:● LED caution ● Enclosure (Non-

Conductive)● Cooling fans● Fuse ● Current limiter● Discharge button (on case)

Safety Software:

• GUI Control Discharge

• System Idle Discharge

• Close GUI Discharge

Dec 14-06

• Functionality and performance of the system were introduced and demonstrated

• New circuit posses several characteristics for TMS application o Controllable pulseo Pulse widtho Interchangeable polarityo Flexible capability and control due to Arduino

• Provides platform for enhancing similar application in the future
