An eff ective means of harvesting stormwater is through the use of a cistern. Cisterns can vary in size, shape, and how they are utilized. In all cases they take excess stormwater and hold it to either keep it out of storm sewer systems or for various recycled stormwater re-uses.

Hanging Gardens off ers three distinct types of cistern devices to our clients:

• Rain Barrels: which connect to downspouts (so they can be disconnected from the storm sewer).

• Stormwater Harvesting Cells: underground containment is attained through the building of a structurally sound modular block system over infi ltration of a waterproof membrane.

• Conventional large tank system.

restores on-site natural water fi ltration, controls the release of surface run-off , and also harvests water for on-site reuse

modular units are easily transported and assembled on site by clipping together interlocking panels
