What Will It Look Like At Full Development?

The development will predominately include office, warehousing

and logistics, and light manufacturing industries

The wetland will be a key feature of the development

STEP 1

Street drains collect rainfall and

direct it to a series of treatment ponds and wetlands which

remove pollutants

STEP 2

The partially treated rainfall

enters a large wetland for further pollutant removal

STEP 3

The wetland overflows into a

large open storage dam

Main Wetland

Overflows To Creek

Storage Dam

STEP 4

Stormwater is pumped from the

storage dam into a state of the art treatment plant which is

capable of producing a drinking

water quality product

STEP 5

The treated water is stored in a

tank and tested to prove it has met the required treatment

standard

STEP 6

Once the quality is confirmed,

the water is released into supply

Overview of Hazard Screening

Tier 1 Screening – Hazard Identification through major

lit review ( ~ 3000)

Tier 2 Screening. Filtering based on:

• Chemical attributes (~ 1500 )

• Presence in Australia (~700)

Tertiary Screening: Additional filters based on likelihood

of presence and expert opinion

 Residual hazards to control and/or monitor (≈ 100 ?)

 > 55,000,000 substances registered to date

 >100,000 substances in industry

and commerce – Many potential

stormwater contaminants

Stormwater Harvesting And Reuse Project

Issues

Every developer wants to do something different:

• Small to large scale stormwater harvesting proposals

• Building scale black/grey water treatment plants

YVW is best placed to deliver a whole of PAC solution:

• Economies of scale

• Water company experienced with management and operation of

similar schemes

• More likely to be able to source necessary funding
