Second Sunday of Advent: December 8, 2013 Advent Spirit The spirit of the Lord rests on God’s Messiah in many ways, Isaiah says. We don’t sing “Gloria” at Mass during Advent, but Paul tells us to glorify God by welcoming others as Jesus did. John the Baptist also glorifies God by announcing the coming of Christ in the Holy Spirit.
A second candle joins the glow, And hope grows brighter for our eyes.

SCRPITURE STUDY
The Scripture Study Group will be studying the Gospel of Mark for ten weeks starting January 13, 2014 at 7 pm in PAC B. All are invited to attend. No previous scripture study experience is required. The suggested donation is $18. Contact Jim Miller at 408-377-5070 for more infor-mation.
Consecration on Monday, December 9, 2013
For those of you who have been doing the 33 day prepara-tion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the formal consecration will take place at St. Lucy after the 8AM Mass by Fr. Kevin and after the 8AM Mass at St. Francis Cabrini by Fr. Michael Hendrickson. St. Francis Cabrini will also have a special Mass on Monday, December 9 at 5:30pm. If you haven't started the 33 day preparation, start now, consecrate yourself on December 9, and finish the prayers after. If you have any questions, call Charlotte or Barry at 408-379-6517.
