Cross Country ReviewThe Westminster men’s

and women’s cross country teams placed fourth and seventh

in the PAC under seventh-year head coach Tim McNeil.

On the men’s side, senior Aaron Sutton finished the 8-kilometer race in 27:20.10 for 15th place overall. The spot earned him honorable mention recognition. Freshman Matt Slagle also made an impression for the Titans finishing with a 29th-place finish (28:16.00). Seniors Kyle Filicky

and Taylor Walter and sophomores Cody Schreiber and Anthony Yasko also had solid years as returning lettermen. Freshman John-Scott Somora impressed with a strong first year.

On the women’s side, junior Jenny Jones cracked the top 20 at the PACs for the second straight year with an 11th-place time of 24:19 in the 6-kilometer race. Jones improved from her 12th-place finish in 2012 and earned a spot on the All-PAC Second Team for the third straight year.

Cross Country Course Starting Line

The Westminster men’s and women’s track & field programs compete at the newly-renovated Harold Burry Stadium. The stadium has new lighting, pedestrian walkway and entrance plaza, and FieldTurf surface new for 2008-09. The eight-lane, all-weather track surface was installed during the 2002 season thanks to a $500,000 gift from the Hoyt Foundation in New Castle, Pa. The track complex also includes a steeplechase pit, jumping pits, high jump and pole vault areas, and throwing areas for field events. The cross country course loops around the scenic Westminster campus that includes Brittain Lake.
