Titan Legends The 1969 Westminster coaching staff included three of the win-ningest coaches in team history and three College Football Hall of Famers. From left to right: Harold Burry was head coach from 1952-71 (127-31-5, .794), Joe Fusco from 1972-90 (154-34-3, .814), and Gene Nicholson from 1991-98 (64-25-2, .714). Former quarterback Harold Davis was the team’s only three-time, first-team All-American from 1954-56. Burry, Fusco and Davis were inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996, 2001 and 2004, respectively.

Another Titan legend is Larry Pugh, a first-team All-American guard and linebacker in 1962 and 1964, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998.

The 1976 Titans were greeted to a heroes’ welcome on the tarmac after returning from Redlands, Calif., where they beat Redlands, 20-13, to win the team’s second of six NAIA Division III National Championships.
