1314 ISIR Dataload Process

Dataload Phase 1 – Processing Records From Correction Files

RCRTPXX (Financial Aid Data Load, Part 3) loads new and matching applicant

records to the permanent tables with an option to print a discrepancy report if a

financial aid record already exists.

FNA_SECURE_COPY moves the correction files from their location into Banner

for processing.

RCPTPXX (Financial Aid EDE Dataload Part 1) loads financial aid applicant records

into Banner Financial Aid from external sources via electronic media. This

information is stored in temporary Oracle tables (loaded by the RCPCTxx or

RCPTPxx processes), which is then used by the RCPMTCH (Financial Aid

Matching Process) and RCRTPxx (database load process) programs to complete

the data load process.

The RCPMTCH process compares data in temporary tables against the data in

the production database to ensure that the information can be loaded to the

correct person if they already exist in the database, or to create a new person if

the student does not yet have a record at the institution.


A population selection is run to collect students who are loaded into the

temporary tables by the RCPMTCH process.

Because we are loading correction records, we will unlock the student’s current

record so that the corrected record will be loaded.


RCRTPXX (Financial Aid Data Load, Part 3) is run again to load new and matching

applicant records to the permanent tables with an option to print a discrepancy

report if a financial aid record already exists.

Now, the records will be locked again.


Dataload Phase 2 – Processing Records From New Files

FNA_SECURE_COPY moves the new files from their location into Banner for

processing.

RCPTPXX (Financial Aid EDE Dataload Part 1) loads financial aid applicant records

For one-term packaging (spring-only), a selection of students is gathered who

are matriculated for the spring term of the aid year being processed.

Tracking and budget grouping are completed for the one-term population.

The 5-month budget and spring-only aid period are posted in batch for the

selected one-term students.


Perform needs analysis for the one-term population


Dataload Phase 3 – Processing Records From Suspense/Discrepancy and Posting Requirements

Select students who are loaded from suspense but are registered as one-term

students for the spring term. This is done using a popsel with an intersect.

Run tracking, budget and packaging grouping for the spring-only students that

were loaded from suspense/descrepency.


Post the 5-month budget duration and spring-only aid period for the spring-only

students loaded from suspense/descrepancy.

Run tracking and budget grouping for all students brought in on the dataload

and any student in a tracking group of ISIRRJ, NOADST, DNDADM, NOSTU,

INACTV, or REVIEW.


Select students with federal (CPS) verification flags and mark them as “Selected,

Not Verified”.

Post the institutionally selected verification.


Process all C-flag and FAFSA Assumption requirements to RRAAREQ.


The popsel uses the same criteria as the one above, but searches for comment

codes 022, 025, 040, 044 and 051.

The FAFSA_C-FLAG_SSNP popsel searches for the same criteria as above, but

with comment codes ('011', '012', '014', '015', '027', '029', '040', '048', '049',

'083', '084' ,'166' ,'167', and ‘164’).

Select students who are only independent due to answer the emancipated

minor, homeless youth or legal guardianship questions.


Select students who answered the dislocated worker question for either

themselves or their parents and post a requirement.

Select students with assumptions, selective service issues or aggregate loan

issues and post appropriate requirements.


Select students who are orphans or wards of the court and post the appropriate

requirements.

Select all students from the popsels mentioned above with a category of

“DATALOAD” on RORPOST to post the appropriate requirements for each group.

Select all students processed on today’s date and run needs analysis. This

includes all students loaded from all 3 phases of the dataload.

Run grade level edits on all applicable terms.


Run packaging group on the spring-only students.

Select all students processed on today’s date and run packaging grouping. This

includes all students loaded from all 3 phases of the dataload.

Run population selection on groups of students who need special attention.

Sheila will print the output of these reports and distribute to the appropriate

staff members.


Run the data descrepancy reports for last name, first name, social and date of

birth to identify students with variances.
