}  The Caribbean: main climate-driven issues ◦  CORDEX data and tools for model evaluation

Background papers and invited plenary speakers will provide the context for main topics of regional concern.

}  Training activities (Chris Lennard): ◦  From data to action….developing useful climate-

relevant messages for policy development

}  Aims: 1.  To  identify  risks  faced  by  sectors  in  society  to  both  climate  and  non-‐climate  stress.

2.  To  gain  understanding  of  climate  information  and  the  context  it  is  used  in  by  decision  making  framework

3.  To  develop  the  ability  to  use  climate  information  responsibly  so  that  one  can  make  informed  decisions  when  assessing  climate-‐related  risk  and  setting  appropriate  prioritization.

4.  To  understand  how  climate  information  intersects  with  non-‐climatic  factors.

5.  Develop  key,  actionable  statements  based  on  a  case  study  you  will  develop.

}  Improved training and analysis skills. }  Enhanced synthesis and relevance of regional

climate information and projections. }  Improved channels for timely sharing of climate

change information. }  Improved understanding of potential vulnerabilities

and impacts of global change at the regional scale. }  Enhanced awareness by regional authorities of the

need for adaptation and early response actions. }  The group trained through this capacity building

and education action will become regional experts who will train and advise others in expanded efforts on CORDEX analysis and interpretation of regional climate change responses and related VIA aspects.
