WINTER - SPRING ATHLETICS • 20162

At Corner Pantry, summer vacation never really ends.

A Tucker Company

Everything you need, right around the Corner.

Okay, school has begun. Homework, pop-quizzes, and reports will come due. But life

isn’t over. Now, in addition to learning a few new things, you can look forward

to seeing old friends, making new friends, going to parties and

screaming your vocal chords out at all the big games.

Besides, you still have the weekends.

And Corner Pantry is here to help. We’re right around the corner

with every party need: chips, ice, drinks, snacks, and more.

Heck, we even have notebook paper.

Dear Members of the Hammond Community and Our Guests,

Welcome to another great season of athletic competition at Hammond. Whether you have been a faithful member of our community for many years, or are visiting our campus for the first time, I hope you find your experience enjoyable. In keeping with our highly successful tradition, the 2015-2016 school year promises to be another im-pressive year in the classrooms and on the playing fields. I extend appreciation to our students, coaches, parents, volunteers, and maintenance staff, whose hard work and dedication help ensure the quality of experience we have all come to enjoy.

While Hammond has a 50-year tradition of being at the forefront of academic excel-lence, our school experience is further defined by many opportunities for students to develop in mind, body, and spirit. Competition helps foster a sense of shared loyalty by all constituents in a school community: students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents,

and friends. The potential lessons learned outside the classroom in athletics complement our academic program and are valuable components in developing the whole child.

We are dedicated to preparing our students for college; therefore, our academic curriculum is rigorous. Given this, as well as our strengths in the arts, I am always impressed that roughly 93% of our student body manages to balance their time and represent our school in athletic competition during the course of the year.

Thank you for being here to support our students. Your presence and positive sportsmanship help contribute to the spirit that defines Hammond. I am honored to be a member of the Hammond community, and wish all of the Sky-hawks the best of luck this year.

Dear Skyhawk Fans and Visiting Guests,

Welcome to Hammond’s 50th athletic season. The 2014-2015 school year was an impressive year for the Skyhawk Nation. We celebrated five state championship wins: Football, Competition Cheerleading, Basketball, Western Equestrian, and Boys Track and Field Co-Championship. These wins catapulted our total school title wins to an overall record of 121 -- an impressive number for a

relatively young school.

Through the hard work of many devoted Skyhawk parents, coaches, and students, we are the fortunate beneficiaries of an impressive array of sports facilities and state-of-the-art equipment with which our student-athletes compete. We are grateful to the many advertisers and Skyhawk supporters who have given generously to make much of this possible. And while we enjoy a first class athletic program at Hammond, it’s only a small part of the success we enjoy.

Here at Hammond, we strive to develop the intellectual, physical, social, and moral strength of each student-athlete, and to provide a multitude of opportunities in which this can happen. Realizing that academics is the backbone of our programs, we believe athletics plays a vital role in helping students become champions not only on the field, but in the classrooms ... and in life.

We are pleased to have you join us. Thank you for supporting our student-athletes.

Go Skyhawks!Jeff BarnesAthletic Director

Dear Friends of Hammond School,

Welcome to another season of Hammond School athletics. This school year marks the 50th of Skyhawk Athletics! We are glad to have you at Hammond and hope your visit is an exciting and enjoyable one.

Hammond is coming off of a very successful 2014-2015 year, winning state championships in Football,

Boys Basketball, Western Equestrian, and a co-championship in Track and Field. In addition, six of our varsity teams were state runners-up last year. Last year’s success was punctuated by being awarded the James C. Williams President’s Cup for most outstanding athletic program for the previous year.

The Skyhawk Club proudly supports our 22 varsity, 13 junior varsity, and 11 Middle School athletic teams. At Hammond we believe athletic participation is an integral part of a well-rounded education and one that helps develop character and leadership. The Skyhawk Club provides the financial support needed to ensure our teams have state-of-the-art equipment and top-notch facilities to compete at the highest level. We encourage each of you to become a member of the Skyhawk Club, support our program advertisers, and visit our concession stands.

We look forward to the continued success of our teams and thank our many coaches, staff, and volunteers who put in countless hours for our student athletes. On behalf of the Skyhawk Club, thank you for your support of Hammond School athletics.
