I’m delighted to present to

you a wonderful new season

of shows here at the Liverpool

Empire Theatre. It’s a great

honour for us to be hosting

New Adventures and

Re:Bourne’s extraordinary

adaptation of Lord of the

Flies as it will showcase some

remarkable young talent from right here in the North

West, and I’m sure you’ll be excited to learn for the first

time that the acclaimed musical Wicked is visiting

us next year.

It’s our aim to ensure that you have a wonderful

experience every time you visit us, from the moment

you book your ticket until you leave the theatre after a

memorable performance. We have four great bars here

at the Empire in the atrium, stalls, foyer and circle.

Did you know, our Atrium bar opens half an hour before

the main theatre doors open? That’s an hour and a half

before the performance starts allowing you to relax,

enjoy a drink and take in the great view through our

floor to ceiling windows.

There are often promotions available and you can even

pre-order your interval drinks so that you don’t have

to wait at the bar. Just ask one of our friendly bar

staff for information.

Why not visit our Little Darlings sweet cart for that

extra special sweet treat? It’s located in our circle bar

on the first floor and stocks lots of classic favourites.

Alternatively we also sell a variety of luxury ice cream

in the auditorium during the interval or you can visit

our confectionary counter in the foyer to view our

wide range of treats.

We want to make theatre accessible at a price to suit

every pocket. Now even more of your favourite shows

are available at prices starting from just £10!

On behalf of the whole team here at the Empire,

I thank you for your continued support. We do

hope to welcome you back very soon.

Best Wishes,

Diane Belding General Manager

A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS BALLET FOR ALL THE FAMILY!

0844 871 3017 atgtickets.com/liverpool Bkg fees apply

Journey back in time with English National Ballet to a frost-

covered, gas-lit world and join Clara, her Nutcracker doll and

the magician Drosselmeyer in this traditional, festive tale

for all the family.

On an enchanted Christmas Eve, under the heavy boughs of the

candlelit tree, Clara battles with the Mouse King and falls in love

with a handsome prince. As the air grows colder and snowflakes

begin to fall, Clara and her valiant Nutcracker take a hot air

balloon ride across the frost-dusted skyline to the glistening

Land of Snow where her adventure really begins.

In a world of Edwardian elegance, Nutcracker brings to life the

eternally popular Tchaikovsky score featuring the Dance of

the Sugar Plum Fairy and Waltz of the Flowers.

This classical production is a magical, memorable

and unmissable seasonal treat.

★★★★★‘JAW-DROPPINGLY AMAZING’

MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS

Direct from the West End, the smash-hit musical Ghost

comes to Liverpool for two weeks this February.

Based on the phenomenal Oscar-winning movie that captured

the hearts and imaginations of a generation back in the 90s, Ghost

is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Sam is trapped as a

ghost between this world and the next, trying to communicate

with girlfriend Molly through a phoney psychic in the hope

of saving her from his murderer.

Adapted for the stage by Bruce Joel Rubin from his own Oscar-

winning screenplay for the film, the amazing special effects and

dazzling staging are by the multi award-winning Paul Kieve

(Inner Magic Circle member) and Tony Award-winner Matthew

Warchus. With a score by rock legends and Grammy award winners,

Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson

and Alanis Morrisette), and featuring the unforgettable

Unchained Melody, Ghost is a rollercoaster ride of romance

and comedy with dazzling state-of-the-art staging.

‘MATTHEW BOURNE HAS BROUGHT DANCE TO THE MASSES LIKE NOBODY ELSE’

Based on the novel by WILLIAM GOLDING

Music by TERRY DAVIES

Sound design by PAUL GROOTHUIS

Lighting design by CHRIS DAVEY

Design by LEZ BROTHERSTON

Choreographed by SCOTT AMBLER

Adapted and Directed by MATTHEW BOURNE and SCOTT AMBLER

Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures has created some of the

most successful shows of the last 25 years, including Swan

Lake, Nutcracker! and the sell-out hit, Sleeping Beauty.

Now the company unites a cast of New Adventures dancers

with remarkable young talent from the North West, in an

extraordinary adaptation of William Golding’s classic novel,

Lord of the Flies choreographed by Olivier nominated Scott

Ambler. As the schoolboys find themselves abandoned in a

deserted theatre, Golding’s legendary characters are brought

to life with raw energy, emotional intensity and breathtaking

performances. Civilisation crumbles and the rulebook is

forgotten as the story builds to an electrifying climax.

Chilling, beautiful and hugely entertaining, Lord of the

Flies will enthral Bourne fans and inspire a generation

of new audiences.
