El Dorado Hills Community Services District is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012; a golden year that will be marked by a year-long series of special events to commemorate our 50 years. The celebration will kick-off in January with the unveiling of the 50th anniversary logo.

Throughout 2012, the 50th anniversary theme and logo will be prominent in CSD publications, events and other promotional activities. This will include the Spring Egg Hunt, Summer Concert Series and Saturday Night in the Park.

Be sure to join us on Friday, May 18 at 7pm in the Community Park for our 50th anniversary celebration!!!

Christmas Tree Recycling & ChippingSaturday, January 7, 9am-3pm & Sunday, January 8 • 9am-12pmThis CSD/Waste Connections sponsored free event will take place at the Community Park. Cash donations will be accepted and used for our Community Supporting Youth Fund.To prepare remove everything from the tree including all ornaments, lights, orna-ment holders, nails and stand. Trees that are “flocked” are not eligible for chipping.Discarded wreaths, garland, and greenery with metal, plastic, wire, lights, or orna-mentation are not considered green waste. Place them in your trash cart.Residents have a choice of:

A) Bringing their own trees to the Community Park either dayB) Utilizing Boy Scout curbside tree collection fundraiser offered on Saturday onlyC) Cutting the tree into small pieces to place in the green waste cart (making sure

The Spring Bunny will be hopping into El Dorado Hills to visit the boys and girls and join in the celebration! Activities Include: arts and crafts, visit from the Spring Bunny (Parents – bring your camera) & Egg Hunt at 10am SHARP!Areas will be roped off into four different age categories: 2 & younger, 3-4, 5-7, 8 & older. Plastic eggs will be hidden throughout the park filled

with candy and assorted special goodies! Children are to bring their own baskets.

Grades K-5thKydZonE is the PERFECT place for your kids after school! Buckeye Union School District transpor-tation provides buses from Silva Valley, Brooks

and Oak Meadow to drop your child off in the CSD Parking Lot each afternoon you need them to attend. (If your child attends a Rescue Union School and you are interested in your children attending the program, but need transportation, please call the RUSD transportation at (530) 672-4300 so they know there is an interest.) Please be sure to purchase a bus pass from the transportation department. Not only will your children enjoy our awesome gymnasium and playground, but they will love our great staff! We have fun, energetic staff members comprised of high school and college students that are all first aid and CPR certified, and have been fingerprinted and trained.

KydZonE “Walking Bus” from Silva Valley Elementary School Go Green, Get Fit, Have Fun!

With the Walking Bus that leaves the flag pole at Silva Valley each afternoon and heads to the CSD Gym, the choice is clear – KydZonE is the place kids want to be! Save money (and the environment) on a bus pass, as well as prevent childhood obesity by giving your child the opportunity to walk to a recreational after school program that will not only keep

them active and having fun, but will also help with homework, as well as build self-esteem while having tons of fun! Note: An additional waiver will need to be signed in the registration office prior to participating in this program.

New! Walking Crew from Rolling Hills Middle SchoolRegistered Teen Center members will be met at the flag pole each day by a staff mem-ber to walk back to the Teen Center. The Walking Crew will leave 15 minutes after the bell rings each day after school excluding rainy days. Staff members will not be meeting the kids on days that are raining, but members are encouraged to all walk over together. No fee is associated with this program, but an additional waiver must be signed.

Senior Support CouncilThe SSC is a liaison group between the senior community, El Dorado Hills CSD, and County Department of Human (Se-nior) Services.
