► WHO’S WHO - POOL TABLES

Choosing a new billiards table for your home is a major deci-sion. However, when you select the right table, it can provide hours of enjoyment and enhance the beauty of your home. Making a decision may feel overwhelming, but you can break the decision-making process into easy steps. Measure the area you have in mind for the billiards table to determine the ideal table size. Ideally, you should have 5 to 6 feet of free space around your table. The surface area of all regulation-size billiard tables is two times longer than the width. Tables range in length from 7 to 10 feet. The most common size for home tables is 8 feet. Consider the amount of money you want to spend. Bil-liards tables are available in a wide variety of styles and materials. In general, the less expensive tables are made of cheaper components and do not last as long as more expensive, high-end tables. Think about the performance

level you need from the table. For in-stance, determine if you plan on using the table for frequent practice and seri-ous game play, or decide if it will be for occasional, recreational use. Evaluate the different materi-als and features that affect durability

and decorative appeal of the table. For high-quality tables, manufacturers use 1-inch thick slate to construct the table bed. Table beds are covered with dif-ferent materials. Less expensive tables use felt as a covering, which tends to

slow down balls. High-end tables use fine worsted wool that allows the balls to move faster. You can purchase tables made from inexpensive laminate or pric-ey hardwoods. You can buy tables with pre-built frames or frames you assemble at

home. Pre-built frames are usually stronger. You may also decide to have a professional install your ta-ble to ensure it is sturdy and level. When buying a new pool table in Arizona you can count on Dia-mondback Billiards. They have a large selection to choose from, bringing your family years of fun and enjoyment. Offering high qual-ity pool and billiard accessories in addition to the sleek line of Olhau-sen pool tables. They have game room collections to fit any budget. The staff strives to cultivate life-time customers that will tell their

friends and family about the no pressure buying experience found at Diamond-back Billiards. For more information call 602-738-1749 or stop by today. The showroom is located at 6027 W Bell Road, Suite B, in Glendale.

► WHO’S WHO - ACCOUNTING & TAXES

viser is to be available and to pro-vide insightful advice to enable our clients to make informed financial decisions. We do not accept any-thing less from ourselves and this is what we deliver to you. We feel it is extremely important to continually professionally educate ourselves to improve our technical expertise, financial knowledge and service to our clients. Our high service quality and “rav-ing fan” clients are the result of our commitment to excellence.

We will answer all of your ques-tions, as they impact both your tax and financial situations.

We welcome you to contact us any-time at 602-714-8896 for a free con-sultation.

As you begin to think about filing your taxes here is some very im-portant advice, perhaps the best tax advice you can get, that bears repeat-ing: Don’t accept tax advice from anyone other than a professional tax preparer. Don’t listen to a broker, banker, insurance salesman, neighbor, co-worker, or your Uncle Charlie! If

you are given tax information by a non-tax person, be sure to check it out with your own tax professional.Along the same lines, you should al-ways double-check your options and do the math for the different scenar-ios you may encounter. On your tax return you are often given choices on how to treat a certain item, and you should review each option and do separate calculations to see which one will result in the lowest tax. A trained tax preparer will be familiar

with these nuances. And consider how the option you choose on your federal return will affect your state tax return. One op-tion may save $50 in federal taxes but cost you $100 on your state return. Choose the option that will allow you to pay the absolute least amount of combined overall federal, state and local income taxes. Finally, resist the temptation to rely on tax preparation software pack-age or online filing service to prepare a correct and accurate return if you do not have sufficient knowledge of the Tax Code. No software package or online filing service is a substi-tute for actual tax knowledge, or for a competent, experienced tax profes-sional. As with any software, the rule is “garbage in, garbage out”. If you don’t know how to enter the infor-mation, or what information to enter, you won’t get the best, or sometimes not even the correct, answer. In Glendale the “go to firm” is Patriot Accounting. Here is why. An account-ing firm is known for the quality of its service. Our firm’s reputation reflects the high standards we demand of our-selves. Our primary goal as a trusted ad-

► WHO’S WHO - CUSTOM CABINETS

Kitchens set the tone and atmo-sphere in a home. The quality, appeal and style of the kitchen cabinets are the first thing most homebuyers look at. High quality, well-constructed kitchen cabinets are a source of aes-thetic beauty, luxury and pleasure that add value to a home. Custom kitchen cabinets are considered a luxury item for most people. Numerous cabinetry com-panies and home centers provide semi-custom cabinet work, by ad-justing or changing manufacturer stock items to accommodate cus-tomer tastes and the many varia-tions in their kitchens. However, the added benefits of fully cus-tomized kitchen cabinets can be one of the best decisions a homeowner can make. With the numerous variables and decisions involved in customizing your cabinets, the process can seem daunting. An experienced designer can work with you from start to fin-ish streamlining every step. Custom

kitchen cabinets can be expensive, but with some effort you can find the right designer and company to see you through regardless of the scope or budget of your project. An expert in customized cabinets should

be able to help you easily compare styles, colors, textures, finishes, and prices for the basis of your unique project. Meet Amy Freidenberger. Amy is the owner and founder of Foothills Wood Transformations. She has been involved in custom woodworking for over twenty years developing her

talent and skill into an expert crafts-man. Nine years ago she founded Foothills Wood Transformation to give her the freedom to work with each client on an individual basis from start to finish.

Amy discovered that participat-ing with each new client through-out every step of the process from design, to fabrication, to installa-tion provided a more satisfying experience for everyone involved. Using this approach gives her a better understanding of each cus-tomer’s expectations and desires. Each client gets exactly what they dreamed of and Amy gets the sat-isfaction of seeing people enjoy

her creations for years to come. Handcrafted custom cabinets may be a luxury, but because of Amy Freidenberger they are more affordable than ever for people to enjoy. Call her today to schedule a complimentary “No Obligation” in home design visit. Her direct line is 602-714-8892.

it is manufactured at a local and highly respected compounding pharmacy in Peoria. Unlike other clinics, Vital4Men goes the extra mile by requiring that every batch of testosterone be tested pre & post production for potency and steril-ity. What sets Vital4Men apart is that they offer a free consultation for anyone that has questions re-garding testosterone replacement therapy. Most of their competitors charge anywhere from $200 to $600 to simply talk to a doctor about possible treatment. Vital4Men also accepts all major medical insurance plans including Medicare. For more information, call the office today at 623-208-5485.

Vital4Men, which specializes in the diagnosis & treatment of low testosterone in men, has proved to be a very welcome addition to the Northwest Valley. Ever since the clinic opened their doors on May 1st, 2012 in the Peoria-Glendale area, Vital4Men has experienced remarkable growth. They are now planning to open their second loca-tion in the vicinity of North Phoe-nix/Scottsdale by mid-2013. The Vital4Men team is com-prised of experts specializing in the diagnosis & treatment of low tes-tosterone, which is a common issue for many men. The founders were receiving treatment through their primary care provider but found it to be inconvenient because of long

wait times to see their doctor. They both experienced great results and decided to open a clinic that is spe-cific in the treatment of men with low testosterone. The goal of Vi-tal4Men is to have you in and out within 5 minutes once you start on-going therapy and no appointment is needed. Averaging 15 new patients per week, Vital4Men has enjoyed ex-ceptional growth. Patients typically are men between the ages of 30 to 60 who are experiencing issues such as low energy, decreased libido, ir-ritability, loss of mental focus, loss of muscle mass and weight gain, among others. To help these pa-tients, Vital4Men uses a bio-identi-cal testosterone that is unique since

► WHO’S WHO - FINANCIAL PLANNING

your plan, but you should also use a Roth IRA and other investment tools to increase your investments. Once you match out your eligibil-ity on your retirement accounts you can use other tools such as mutual funds, annuities or real estate to in-crease your investment portfolio. It is important to diversify your types of investments. If you are consistent and careful with your investments you will reach a point when your investments generate more income than you do. This is a good thing and you should have this in place by the time you retire.

For more information and a com-plimentary, no obligation consulta-tion, call William Spain of Patriot Accounting. He can be reached at 602-714-8899.

It is important to set and reach fi-nancial goals. A long-term plan will help you to reach your long-term goals and give you a focus for your short-term goals. This plan will vary from individual to individual. In order to truly manage your money you should have a working budget for each month. It puts you in control of your money. It lets

you track your spending and helps to measure whether or not you are meeting your financial goals. Al-though a budget may seem like a lot of work, it is the key to real lasting financial success. The second step is to get out of debt. This is important because it does not make sense to save or invest money when you are paying a higher interest rate on the money that you owe to others. Getting out of debt takes discipline, but it is possible. If

you have a lot of debt you will need to drastically cut your spending and increase your earnings in order to pay the debt off more quickly. You should include of all of your debt in this ex-cept for your first mortgage on your home. Once you are out of debt you should build an emergency fund of six months of expenses that you leave in the bank. This cushion will allow you to leave your investments alone in case you fall on hard times. It should only be used for real emer-gencies such as a job loss, and it is set up to protect your investments and re-tirement savings. If you dip into your emergency fund you should focus on bringing it back up to the full amount as quickly as possible. After you have done that, work towards building your retirement and investing savings. Many financial ad-visers, such as Dave Ramsey, recom-mend putting fifteen percent of your gross income into retirement each year. However if you have specific retirement goals you may need to in-crease this amount. You should talk to a financial planner who can help you determine the amount you need to be able to retire comfortably. You can use your 401(k) at work as part of
