Welcome to the 2015 Spring/Summer season at the Community Per- formance and Art Center (CPAC)! Artists making their debut at the venue include the Cochise County All-Stars, Hot Club of Tucson and Magician Eric Giliam. CPAC also welcomes back many crowd favorites including Ronstadt Generations, Strait Country and the Green Valley Summer Chorus. The Santa Cruz Summer Winds and Santa Cruz Jazz Collective of Southern Arizona will perform a series of four concerts including celebrations of Memorial Day and the 4th of July in addition to a tribute to Elvis Presley. CPAC will also conduct a summer arts camp for youth in the month of June were students will receive instruction in acting, musical theater, visual arts and more! CPAC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization, serves residents of the Santa Cruz Valley and surrounding areas by presenting a wide variety of programming, art exhibits, classes, workshops and other activi- ties. The Center is committed to providing the highest quality of enter- tainment and believes that the arts add to the quality of life in our com- munity. Studio Artists appear in Arizona Opera's main stage productions and continue their train-ing as they each begin promising operatic careers. The Luther College Concert Band was formed in 1878 and is one of the oldest touring organizations in the nation. The Concert Band rose to its current position of prestige through the influen-tial directorships of Carlo Sperati (1905-1943) and Weston Noble (1948-1973). With current director Joan deAlbuquerque the band remains among the country’s most outstanding college ensem-bles. The ensemble is rich in tradition, most apparent through the inclusion of the selections Who Puts His Trust in God Most

Just and Stars and Stripes Forever at the end of almost every concert. Throughout its long history, the Concert Band has en-joyed unrivaled performance opportunities in the United States, Western Europe, Japan and Scandinavia. The ensemble tours every year, with international travel every four years.

TUCSON ARIZONA BOYS CHORUS Pops Concert Tuesday, March 24th 7:00 PM Tickets: $20 in advance - all tickets $23 at door Since its inception in 1939, the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus has earned the reputation as a premiere music education and perform-ance organization of both traditional, classic boy choir repertoire as well as representing the diversity of the American Southwest. Under the direction of Julian Ackerley, the boy choristers will be performing a variety of repertoire including their signature west-ern selections with a demonstration of fancy trick rodeo rop-ing. The chorus has performed in numerous countries across the globe, at prestigious locations including the White House and on multiple national television programs.

TOM SHEELEY IN CONCERT Classical Guitar Wednesday, March 25th 7:00 PM Tickets: $15/$20 in advance - all tickets $20 at door

Tom Sheeley has performed hundreds of concerts on three conti-nents. His chamber collaborations include the Blair Quartet, St Petersburg Quartet, The National Symphony of Ecuador, The Flagstaff Symphony and The Redlands Bowl Summer Festival Orchestra. He was first place winner in the first Manuel M. Ponce International Guitar Competition and was one of eight guitarists selected by Arts America to be an "Artistic Ambassador" during a tour of South America. He currently teaches guitar, music lit-erature and philosophy at Northern Arizona University.

SONS OF ORPHEUS Wednesday, April 8th 7:00 PM Tickets: $15 in advance - $17 at door

Sons of Orpheus, proclaimed “Tucson’s Ambassadors of Song,” will present a spring concert program that includes two opera choruses, popular tunes from the Civil War and WW II eras, as well as several Cowboy Classics. The program will also feature talented young male and female musicians from local schools

and the University of Arizona.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE by Tennessee Williams The Santa Cruz Shoestring Players April 17-18 7PM, April 19 3PM and April 24-25 7PM Tickets: $15/$20 in advance - all tickets $20 at door

The Glass Menagerie premiered in 1944 and catapulted Tennes-see Williams from obscurity to fame. Amanda is a Southern belle living with two grown children in a small apartment. She dreams of a better life for her shy and crippled daughter Laura. The arri-val of a potential suitor sends shocking and irreversible damage throughout the entire family. Directed by Roberta Konen.

BALLET FOLKLORICO LA PALOMA Cinco de Mayo Celebration! Tuesday, May 5th at 7:00PM Tickets: $15 for adults / $7.50 for children age 5-12 Ballet Folkorico La Paloma, a non-profit organization founded in 1982, is dedicated to perpetuating the native folk dances of Mex-ico, arousing pride and heritage in the Mexican- American com-munity and educating the general public through their colorful and entertaining performances. Ballet Folklorico La Paloma has performed throughout southern Arizona at events such as Tucson Meet Yourself, St Augustine’s Fiestas, Cinco de Mayo, Fiestas de Independencia de Septiembre, De Anza Days in Tubac, the International Mariachi Conference and many more. The group has toured extensively throughout the United States and Mexico and performed at both the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. They will be performing in Hawaii and Barcelona, Spain in the coming year and have been invited to perform at the 2016 Sum-mer Olympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

RONSTADT GENERATIONS Southwestern Folk Fusion Wednesday, May 13th at 7:00PM Tickets: $15/$20 in advance – all tickets $20 at door Representing five generations in North America, Ronstadt Gen-erations continues the family’s musical traditions with Michael J. Ronstadt (younger brother of Linda) and his sons, Michael G. and Petie. Multi-instrumentalists and solo performers in their own right, they present an exciting repertoire that preserves the traditional Southwestern and Mexican songs of their heritage while offering innovative original material. New compositions place them on the cutting edge of multiple, blended genres, stretching the boundaries of folk, blues, jazz and beyond. Rich harmonies sung in English and Spanish are accompanied by out-standing cello and guitars. Individually and together, Stateside and across the pond, the trio’s worldwide touring and recording credits include such diverse artists as Linda Ronstadt, Los Lobos, Dixie Hummingbirds, David Bromberg, Nydia Rojas, Tish Hinojosa, Muriel Anderson, and Mariachi Vargas. In 2012, the band added three veteran musicians, Alex Flores, Sam Ea-gon and Aaron Emery, playing tenor saxophone, bass and drums respectively. They add a colorful dimension to an already power-ful presentation that respects tradition while exploring innova-tion.

Join the Santa Cruz Summer Winds and the Santa Cruz Jazz Col-lective of Southern Arizona for their third annual summer season at CPAC. These bands will be featured in performance four times during the summer of 2015! This concert is a salute to America’s heroes in service: past, pre-sent and future. The Santa Cruz Summer Winds and the Santa Cruz Jazz Collective of Southern Arizona present a wonderful tribute of music honoring all great men and women who have served their country both home and abroad. The first half of the concert will feature the Summer Winds and a program filled with rousing patriotic music. The second half of the concert will showcase the Jazz Collective in a period-esque big band style salute full of tunes to get you out of your seat and dancing! The Santa Cruz Summer Winds is a 50 member concert band composed of members of the Green Valley Concert Band, musi-cians from the University of Arizona and other talented instru-mentalists throughout southern Arizona. The Santa Cruz Summer Winds is directed by Taylor Mitchell, Suke Nakata and Erin He-pler. The Jazz Collective, formed within the Summer Winds, is directed by Zachary Brennan.

COCHISE COUNTY ALL-STARS Wednesday, June 10 at 7:00PM Tickets: $15/$20 in advance - all tickets $20 at door

So named for the home county of many of the members, The Cochise County All-Stars started their musical journey 10 years ago as a honky-tonk band playing the jukebox country music popular when Route 66 was Main Street USA. A few natural personnel changes have led to an evolved group of seasoned veterans who perform songs they love across a variety of genres ranging from Hank Williams to obscure Latin rock and jazz stan-dards. This performance will include renditions of “16 Tons,” “I’m An Old Cowhand,” “Route 66” and “Black Coffee” among others. Gene Holmes (guitar; vocals) has spent years on the road as a guitarist in Little Richard's back-up band and with former Flying Burrito Brother Chris Ethridge. Louie Levinson (guitar; pedal steel guitar; vocals) cut his professional teeth playing guitar with Latin jazz group Mestizo and pedal steel guitar with alt-country bands The Peterbilts and Red Star Belgrad in Chicago. Amy Langley (vocals; hand percussion) has performed in New York, Los Angeles and Germany where she was active in the jazz com-munity there. Craig Faltin (acoustic and electric bass) has per-formed with Chuck Berry, Laurindo Almeida, Diane Schuur and Dickie Thompson among others. Howard Wooten (guitar, banjo, mandolin) is one of Tucson's top jazz guitar players and has been a fixture on the live Tucson music scene since the late 1960s. He has composed, arranged and performed for TV commercials and traveling Broadway shows.

THE MAGIC OF ERIC GILIAM Friday, June 26 at 7:00PM Tickets: $20 in advance / $25 at door

Born and raised in Alaska, Eric first became fascinated with magic at age twelve when he saw David Copperfield perform in his hometown of Anchorage. He thought the illusions he saw were incredible and soon after decided that performing this art on stage was going to be his life’s passion. Since then his rise as a performing magician has been amazing. He has won numerous national and international awards includ-ing the title of World Teen Magic Champion in Las Vegas. His travels have taken him overseas to London and Rome performing on primetime TV shows. Here at home in the states, he has relocated to the Phoenix area to continue his entertainment career and has become a local hit, performing sold out public shows. He travels throughout the Southwest and has been regularly booked to perform at corporate events on the Strip in Las Vegas, most recently at the Monte Carlo and Paris hotels.

Cody Wade Campbell remembers sitting on the floor in his dad's room listening to records of Elvis Presley. That's where his sing-ing started. Years later he would become an Elvis impersonator performing across the country on casino stages for more than 2,000 people at a time. Campbell currently enjoys more versatile opportunities, most recently serving as the front man of a Rock-abilly band covering a wide variety of his favorite artists. Led by musical director Zachary Brennan, The Santa Cruz Jazz Collective of Southern Arizona is a jazz ensemble of 14 musi-cians formed under the umbrella of The Santa Cruz Summer Winds. ALLEN FARMER QUARTET A Tribute to Mel Torme and Herb Ellis Wednesday, August 19 at 7:00PM Tickets: $15/$20 in advance - all tickets $20 at door

The Allen Farmer Quartet will combine the music of Herb Ellis and Mel Torme, two of the most popular jazz and be-bop per-formers and recording artists of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Selec-tions will include Sweet Georgia Brown, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Embraceable You, Lullaby of Birdland, Look For the Silver Lining and much more! Guitarist and vocalist, Allen Farmer, has performed with Mel Torme, Margaret Whiting, Julie Wilson and Dick Contino among others and has appeared in performances at Knott’s Berry Farm and at the John Wayne Goodtime Theater. Drummer Mike Andrews is involved with the television and movie industry and has appeared numerous times on the Ed Sulli-van and Mike Douglas Shows. Rick Shosie is a veteran of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and performed in Hawaii for a number of years. Originally from Delaware, jazz sensation and piano virtuoso, Sly Slipetsky, has performed across the region and is in high demand as a studio and gig musician. GREEN VALLEY SUMMER CHORUS

Join the Green Valley Summer Chorus in celebrating “Great American Music!” This forty-voice offshoot of the Green Valley Community Chorus is under the direction of Al Saterbak and accompanied by Tamara Kahrimanis. Their program will feature music by American composers from William Billings, who wrote around the time of the revolutionary war, to Stephen Foster, to great songs from Broadway and American film. Enjoy the rich treasure of music from right here in our own homeland!

HOT CLUB OF TUCSON

Gypsy Jazz Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00PM Tickets: $15/$20 in advance - all tickets $20 at door

The Hot Club of Tucson, formed in 2004, is comprised of guitar-ist Matt Mitchell, violinist Nick Coventry and bassist Evan Dain. With weekly engagements at Hotel Congress and other venues in southern Arizona along with an upcoming performance at the national Gypsy Jazz Festival, this band has quickly become the leading force of this genre in the region. The Hot Club of Tucson plays Django Reinhardt inspired acoustic gypsy jazz, French jazz, folk, jazz manouche and music from American Tin Pan Alley. This performance will include original arrangements of Lady is a Tramp (L Hart, R Rodgers), My Melancholy Baby (E Burnett, G Norton), Honeysuckle Rose (F Waller), Manoir de Mes Reves (D Reinhardt) and much more!
