Thank you to our families for the support you have shown the school to ensure we keep everyone as safe as possible. It

has been extremely challenging and a huge adjustment for all. We appreciate the high level of engagement and

communication we have had from our students and their parents.

As the managed return for students continues, we were delighted to see many of our students return on their

designated days and reconnect with their teachers and friends. This is something that we all have missed over the

previous weeks. It really was a special moment seeing the smiles on our student’s faces.

The returned days for our class groups has been important to touch base, communicate the weeks learning, ask

questions, enhance technology skills and allow our students to be back in a regular routine within the classroom. The

Phase 1 return to school continues next week.

It has been fantastic seeing so many beautiful little faces returning to school with us!

Children returning to school

A reminder that if your child is returning to school to learn, please ensure they have their paper work packs and any technology they have borrowed with them. If students are being picked up at the front of school please remember to adhere to the social distancing advice as seen on the posters on our fence line. Those who are learning from home all/some days are reminded that if they are not participating online daily or handing in their paper packs they will be marked as absent on our

rolls.

Equipment To assist with keeping our school a safe place, we ask that students who bring equipment keep it to a minimum, eg. one pencil case containing; one pencil, sharpener, blue and red pen, ruler, scissors and a glue stick. If possible these items should be kept

at school or if taken home cleaned regularly.

Social Distancing In addition to the ongoing hygiene strategies already in place we have separated infants and primary students in the playground. We have also staggered lunch times so all students have access to the playground at separate times. All selected sporting equipment being used during the breaks is being disinfected at the end of each recess and lunch session. We also ask

that students leave toys at home during these times.

attendance + sickness We ask that parents continue to please notify the school of their child's absence. If students are engaging in our learning from home program and completing the set work, they will be marked as flexible attendance instead of an absence. Those students who are not engaging in the online learning, not present at school or not identified as sick will be marked as absent.

It is important to remember that if your child is showing any signs of feeling unwell PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL. Any child showing signs of feeling unwell will be sent to the sick bay and parents will be notified immediately.

Jake is currently doing his final teaching practical with Mr Eastcott and Ms Moore in the Maths department to be a qualified Maths Teacher, so we thought we would ask him some questions.

Where did you study?I originally started studying at Sydney UCS but am now studying at University of Newcastle. Why did you choose teaching as a career?I really like that moment when something clicks across in someone’s head and they finally understand it. Its really nice to actually be able to help people that way.Why did you choose Bingara Central School to do your Final Practical?I grew up in the area down at Barraba, and I see there is a massive need for more teachers to come out here. What do you like to do in your spare time?I play guitar, I play football (soccer)What is your favourite food?Roast porkWhat is your favourite Colour?OrangeDo you prefer cats or dogs?DogsWhat is your favourite Sport?Football (Soccer)Do you have any advice for our students?Make the most of your time when you’ve got someone that wants to be here and help you and teach you.
