Introductiony A Vibrating Table is used at construction sites. It is used for the

compaction of cement concrete cubes . It includes a table top

with elevated edges. It can take a maximum load capacity of

140 kg but our table will be compatible with maxm load 20 kg.

Single phase induction motor of 1/12 hp will allow frequency

that varied between 1000 to 1400 RPM . We provide complete

    unit with a starter switch.

Scopey This standard relates to vibrating tables used for. compaction

of concrete in moulds for the manufacture of precast products

and structural elements. It lays down minimum requirementsregarding materials, design, fabrication, criteria for

performance and methods for testing the same.

y Vibrating tables shall include all appliances creatingrapidly alternating horizontal, vertical or circularvibrations and capable of transmitting these to mouldsfilled with concrete and placed or clamped on the table top.The vibrating tables do not include shock tables whichpulsate at low frequency and operate with the help ofrotating cams.

    Terminology

y For the purpose of this standard, the followingdefinitions shall apply.

y Amplitude of Vibration - Maximum displacement ofthe table top from its mean position during vibration.

y Frequency - Number of vibrations or cycles perminute of the table top.

y Vibration Acceleration -The maximum accelerationper cycle of vibration. It is usually expressed as amultiple of acceleration due to gravity.

    Types of spring1-Helical spring

    2-concentric spring

    3-spiral spring4-Leaf spring

    5-Bellevile spring

For vibrating table we will use helical spring because when

vibration will produce then there will vertical compressionand extension in spring and compression helical spring canfulfill that condition so we prefer helical spring.

y We will prefer to use single phase induction motor becauseit will generate required rpm for 20 kg load. As in industrialpurpose there generally use three phase Induction Motorwhere load also use minimum 100-150 kg, but in our projectload limited up to the 20 kg. If we consider the cost factorthen it also becomes cheaper then the three phaseinduction motor . This is our justification why will use

    single phase motor.

Balanced and unbalanced Motory Balanced Motor-Traditionally in market generally available

balanced motor like single phase, three phase , A.C Motor ,D.C Motor all are available in market generally havingcharacteristic of balanced motor.

y Unbalanced Motor-As In vibrating table we have toproduce vibration as earlier I have told that in traditionalarrangement there are pulley belt arrangement but here we

will replace pulley and belt and will mount a countermassin the shaft of motor when it will run then it will producevibration in table which will fulfill the requirement of ourproject.

    Measurement of Vibration

Characteristicsy The vibration characteristics shall be observed ( by actual

measurements or by calculations) at different points of the

table top by operating the table at its maximum load capacity,

and the least of the observed values shall be taken into

account to decide whether the limits specified in frequency to

no load or full load are satisfied.

y The measurements of frequency and amplitude shall be

carried out with the help of a vibrometer or vibrograph, or anyother equally suitable instrument.

The acceleration shall be either measured with the help of

piem-electric accelerometer, or calculated from the following

    formula:19

What we will do Modificationy As we have made plan to set up four rod across the corner

of table and there we will place a sand filter in inclinedshape when we start motor that will produce vibration dueto which filtering will start and it could used for dualpurpose first for the sand filtering second for the concretemixing this is the modification we will do .It will reducetime as well as human dependency.

    Advantages and Disadvantagesy Advantages

y Reduces the human effort and less time consuming .

    y

Less manpower is required .y Dual work of concrete mixing and filtering of sand could

    be done
